At this point if you are using Google Chrome as your internet-browsing app and you are using google.com as your search engine, you need to start questioning yourself and wonder if you are really meant to be part of the crypto world, after all we are both blogging and consuming content on an obscure, digital money-generating, anti-establishment fighting, pseudo-anarchy supporting, deep-web-money-laundering relating, taxation-is-theft promulgating, inflation-kills-economies believing, conspiracy-theories accepting, self-definition living, off-grid-mentality acquiring, revolutionary-mindset thinking, North Korean crotchet weaving, Latvian-Origami making, Norwegian Guerilla training, Peruvian Salt Water drinking, Indonesian Monkey-training, ecosystem.
If you are not aware of all the implications of using Chrome and google.com go do some research and return to this post afterwards.
Duck-Duck-Go marketed itself as a privacy driven, non biased search engine that people could use without being exposed to third-party propaganda and agendas, as well as data protection to its full capacity, where users wouldn't be part of a advertising data base for corporations to market their bullshit.
Turns out, nobody is impervious to the government's and corpo's reach and control.
In this modern war between Russia and Ukraine information is key, and he who controls the information outlets controls the perception of the world towards this so-called World War III.
According to western propaganda, Russia is the bad guy and, according to Russian propaganda, Ukraine (the United States' proxy) is enabling the bad guy to further their agenda.
Who is right? I have no idea, there is no information outlets that is not biased, there isn't any trustworthy sources first hand because everything is doctored now and the censorship and tampering on sources and first hand material is out of control. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but as far as I know, aliens could've landed in Ukraine and a worldwide summit is happening as you read this post and we would never hear about it, and if it got leaked on Twitter it would be censored and deleted, the account that posted it banned and anyone speaking about it called a looney and shamed by the mob... the average person would never hear about it and if they did it would be so watered down and discredited by the mainstream media that it would not mean anything to anyone.
But that's not the point, the point is, Duck-Duck-Go succumbed to agendas and announced that they are limiting "Russian Propaganda" on their search engine and, since everything is political nowadays, free-thinkers-anti-censorship are already being called far-right members.
I mean. What?
I am fairly political, and some of my posts walk the thin line between being looney-conspiracy-theories and being anti-establishment-pro-freedom-anti-bipartisan. But now, if I get mad at duck-duck-go (without caps anymore) and their weak will now I am part of the far right - when the truth is, I despise both radical sides of the bipartisan show our current politics are.
This doesn't change much, only continues and furthers down the line that we've been going down through over the past decade.
By the way, this is not a sponsored add but if you are still using Chrome or even Brave (another app that sold itself) try using Vivaldi, Avast, or even Tor. And if you are still using google.com as a search engine, try using Metager, Swisscows or Quant.
Who cares if the bearded dude or the bear is right? The point of unbiased, non-edited, curation-free search engines was to see both sides' opinion and information as is, not to be able to find only one side's opinion, and this applies to every subject and topic, not just this planned-propaganda-driven-war. Once the main reason people used this search engine is gone, there's no point for anyone to keep using it, their reason to exist is no longer valid.
I mean, I would rather give away my data, browsing habits and even my favorite porn genre than being spoon-fed information by an agenda-controlled search engine.
This Garfield is cringe af because right now it is facebook normie tier and anyone who thinks they are above average IQ level uses it to appear quirky, smart and propaganda immune (you aren't they are because they know no one is immune to propaganda, see?)
But it is pretty true, propaganda is there and it is so subtle that you don't even notice it is there even if you are actively searching for it and trying to avoid being exposed to it.
But one thing you can actually do is avoid products and services that are openly speaking about being propaganda driven, just like duck-duck-go.
Last week was an important week for the information war that we are going through, how are you preparing for the endgame?
