My best walks, or rather the most relaxing ones that fill my soul and gladden my heart, are the ones I take close to nature, be it places with trees, the sea, remote places or alone.
That afternoon the sun was already setting, the day was coming to an end, but it still wanted to accompany me for a while longer on my walk by the sea.
One of the things I like most about walking near the water, in this case the sea, is the sound it produces. I have always loved the sounds of water, in fact, I once told you that when I was teaching, I created my own water fountain that I had in the water, the effect is one of total calm.
When the sea brings the gentle waves and warm foam to the shore it produces a sound that calms the mind and produces a great peace, at least for me. I always think that if I could do this kind of walk with my eyes closed, I would do it, just walk and listen to those sounds, together with the breeze of the air passing by and whispering words of distant times, as well as the chirping of a bird passing near me.
Along the way there were places to take a rest or also to admire the landscape before me in the stillness. It was great to be there for a while.
Looking at the horizon and seeing the clean, pure, harmonious sea is very pleasant.
I continued my walk through a place where there were many rocks, on a narrower path, where on one side I could see the sea and on the other side these giant rocks like mountains. The sun reflected on them giving them a yellowish hue and the palm trees created a beautiful shadow on them.
The sun was in front of me, so that many of the views seemed to be from another planet or as if the sun was gigantic and flooded everything with a lot of light. But in the distance the beach and the sea with the reflection of the sun on it were beautiful, even against the light.
I could see kittens hiding in the holes in the big rocks. I didn't want to get too close so as not to scare them, so I took pictures of them from a distance, but if you enlarge the pictures you can see them.
As I went around the rocks more cats appeared both walking on the path and climbing those rocks, but also beautiful views from the top. I didn't realise how much I had climbed in altitude. A paradisiacal and ideal place, nature and cats, what more could I ask for.
I followed the path and came across many more and also a sign explaining the large number of cats. It is a controlled cat colony, sterilised and cared for cats, fed very well and also advising those people who would like to volunteer to take care of them. A beautiful work and a beautiful place for them to live, surrounded by an ideal natural environment.
I wanted to take several pictures of all the rocks where I saw cats, especially black and white ones, all beautiful, calm and enjoying the place. People are forbidden to disturb them.
Then I went down the path and natural views awaited me, with many trees and in the distance the beach, the sea was calm and the weather was very pleasant, although as the sun went down more the cold could already be felt.
In some areas the sun's rays still gave that yellow colour and in others the gloom took over the landscape, but it was equally beautiful.
I stopped for a moment to take pictures, breathe the pure air and just relax with the distant sound of the sea and enjoy the view with so much beautiful nature.
I walked down some stairs full of flowers.
The sun seemed even lower, the beach getting ready to sleep, the sea calm with the sweet sound and the palm trees saying goodbye to the light.
I started my way home, but always looking back, because when the sun goes lower and lower it creates more and more beautiful colours on the horizon.
The sea becomes bluer, there are not so many reflections anymore, but the water still reaches the small rocks sounding softly. At that moment I closed my eyes and just listened.
I said goodbye to the big rock and that beautiful beach, promising more walks on it, exploring new places like that colony of cats. There are many paths in the surroundings that I don't know yet and they are waiting for me.
Thank you very much for joining me on this Wednesday walk, I send you my best regards. See you soon.
