In an effort to improve the ability of personnel in the field of public relations, the Lhokseumawe Police held a "Basic Event Photo Technique" which was held at the Rupatama Wicaksana Laghawa Hall of the Lhokseumawe Police, Saturday (4/6/2022).
The activity, which brought academic speakers from the Communication Studies Program at the Malikussaleh University, Muchlis., M.Sos, was attended by Public Relations personnel of the Lhokseumawe Police, members of the Sector Police ranks, and students of the Aceh SPN Work Training (Latja).
In his material, Muchlis mentioned that it is important for police personnel to have photography skills. Besides aiming to devote an incident or event as documentation, it also aims to reveal or present something different from various interesting sides.
According to him, a photo not only displays an object, but also a photo that can tell something about an event to be conveyed. So the ability to take objects or shoot interesting objects is an important thing in photography, explained Muchlis.
He describes five basic photo-taking techniques to produce interesting photos and tell an event. The five techniques are low angle, high angle, birds eye angle, eye view angle, and frog view angle.
"Angle photography is a certain shooting angle or object when the camera shoots "an object. The choice of photo angle completely depends on the point of view and preference of the photographer himself," said Muchlis who is also a journalist for several print and cyber media.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of Lhokseumawe Police, Salman Al Farisi, MM, said that in addition to aiming to improve the ability of photographic techniques that support the function of public relations, it also increases knowledge about the world of photography.
With the basic knowledge and skills obtained from the basic training, it is hoped that it will increase the ability of personnel to support the main tasks of the National Police as protectors and protectors of the community. "The hope is also to be more communicative in reaching the delivery of Kamtibmas messages to the public," said Salman Al Farisi.

Menjadi Pemateri Bagi Personel Polres Lhokseumawe, Dosen Ilmu Paparkan Tips Memotret Peristiwa
Dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan personel di bidang kehumasan, Polres Lhokseumawe menggelar “Pelatihan Dasar Teknik Foto Peristiwa" yang digelar di Aula Rupatama Wicaksana Laghawa Polres Lhokseumawe, Sabtu (4/6/2022).
Kegiatan yang menghadirkan pemateri akademisi dari Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Malikussaleh, Muchlis., M.Sos, tersebut diikuti oleh personel Humas Polres Lhokseumawe, anggota Polsek jajaran, dan siswa Latihan Kerja (Latja) SPN Aceh.
Dalam materinya, Muchlis menyebutkan kemampuan fotografi penting dimiliki bagi personel kepolisian. Selain bertujuan untuk mengabdikan sebuah kejadian atau peristiwa sebagai dokumentasi, juga bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan atau menghadirkan sesuatu yang berbeda dari berbagai sisi yang menarik.
Menurutnya, sebuah foto bukan hanya menampilkan objek semata, akan tetapi juga foto juga dapat bercerita sesuatu tentang sebuah peristiwa yang ingin disampaikan. Sehingga kemampuan mengambil objek atau membidik objek yang menarik menjadi hal penting dalam fotografi, terang Muchlis.
Ia memaparkan lima teknik dasar pengambilan foto untuk menghasilkan foto yang menarik dan menceritakan sebuah peristiwa. Kelima teknik tersebut adalah low angle, high angle, bird eye angle, eye view angle dan frog view angle.
"Angle fotografi adalah sudut pengambilan gambar tertentu atau objek, saat kamera membidik “ebuah objek. Pemilihan angle foto sepenuhnya bergantung pada sudut pandang dan preferensi fotografer itu sendiri," ,” papar Muchlis yang juga wartawan sejumlah media cetak dan siber.
Sementara itu, Kasi Humas Polres Lhokseumawe Salman Al Farisi, MM, mengatakan bahwa selain bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan teknik fotografi yang menunjang fungsi kehumasan, juga semakin menambah pengetahuan seputar dunia fotografi.
Dengan pengetahuan dan kemampuan dasar yang diperoleh dari pelatihan dasar tersebut, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan personel dalam menunjang tugas pokok Polri sebagai pelindung dan pengayom masyarakat. “Harapannya juga semakin komunikatif dalam menjangkau penyampaian pesan-pesan Kamtibmas kepada masyarakat,” kata Salman Al Farisi.
Selain menyampaikan sejumlah teori fotografi, Muchlis juga mengajak para peserta melakukan praktik pengambilan foto sehingga membuat peserta lebih menguasai teknik pengambilan foto-foto peristiwa. [ayi]
