I am a nurse and am happy to be a nurse, nursing is my favorite job.
The story of my favorite Job.
This story is a kind of interesting and funny but the conclusion teaches a whole lot, lets quietly and read the story.
If i just give reasons why my job is my favorite without at least saying a few things about the history of my job definitely the story will be incomplete and might not be interesting.
Nursing my favorite Job.
At the age of 8-10 i will gather my younger ones and my neighbors children, i will take them to be my patient and I will use sticks as syringes and needles.
Gradually as was growing up i was telling my parents i will be a nurse when i grew up, but something happened.
After my secondary school my father decided that i should go for my dream career, and i was happy so i got ready packed luggage.
After registration I was to run a six month program known as PTS then after which i will start my main course.

During that six months I was so happy because i never knew what lies ahead but when PTS was over i have to face life.
After PTS I was posted to the theater for practicals, just seven days there came a surgery for leiomyomas and the surgery took five good hours ahhhh i I fainted at first and was resusitated back and after that day I didn't want to go back to the theater again unfortunately I had to spend 6 months there so I was looking for excuse.
I traveled home with the excuse that I was sick and after a while my father brought me back to school to continue from where I've stopped, it wasn't easy I almost gave up because it was back to back surgeries , both preoperative care and post operative care was not easy at all for me and as a student I had to do almost everything because that's the way I can learn.
Nursing profession goes beyond just treating a patient you must learn how to make a patient happy you must learn how to make a patient confident of what you are doing I'm also so learn how to make a patient calm and stable despite whatever the health challenges she is facing.
A Nurse is bound to meet with patients from different tribe and tongues and of different age both young and old a nurse have to learn not to make assumptions, rather a nurse deals with each patient according to his or her illness.
A nurse has to be diligent with his or her job and also is very important for a nurse to develop a good communication skill because that is the only way you can satisfy your patients.
A little mistake from a nurse takes a human life so it is important for a nurse to learn how to pay extra attention to all details of a patient.
So enough should have the ability to improvise in order to provide immediate solution to any health emergency that comes to a hospital.
So I spent 3 and 1/2 years learning all these qualities of a good nurse though after 6 months of being in the theater I was posted to out patient department where I also face another challenging situation but this time I've made up my mind not to quit anymore so gradually I went to order the apartment of the hospital and I became acquainted with all I should do as a nurse.
After I graduated I got a job in a clinic, my first year of practice wasn't easy because I was always looking for who to run to because of emergencies but unfortunately the environment I was working didn't give such opportunity so I have to take responsibility at all time this gave me the opportunity to brave up and become a better an efficient nurse.

Is 11 years now and I will say that each day gives me Joy when I remember that I am a nurse and that I put smile to people's face, through me God have saved countless lives.
My weakness as a nurse.
My emotions overwhelm me when I am looking at a patient that I've done my best and the patients is not getting better at some point if the patient dies I always have this feeling of I should have done better.
Because of that I always look out for way to improve learning all the new technological skills that are used to save life.
For honestly give me Joy to see when my patients recover and are discharged home I always feel fulfilled, a sense of accomplishment in me.
If I'm giving an opportunity to choose a career once again I will still choose nursing profession as my best career.
I still have some training and courses to complete to become more efficient in my profession, but the little i can do always gives me joy.
