Whoa. I'm shipping like a freighting company right now. Hot off the heels of launching Hiveword (Wordle for Hive), I'm launching something else.
While I was building Hiveword, I remembered how much I used to love the classic game of Minesweeper. Then the idea hit me: could Minesweeper on Hive work? The answer is a resounding yes, lmao.
With the price of Hive at one of its lowest points and facing the threat of inflation and DHF rorting by opportunists, I am doing everything I can to give Hive purpose by building these fun games and apps so people can see Hive is more than just a blogging blockchain.
It's amazing for building apps very quickly with zero fees, 3 second block times, no smart contract languages to learn.
Fortunately, there was overlap with Hiveword, so I could reuse a lot of what I built there to ship Hivesweeper.
What Is Hivesweeper?
Hivesweeper is classic Minesweeper with Hive-native game modes layered in:
- Casual mode if you just want to chill and clear boards.
- Duel mode if you want to play for fixed per-game stakes.
- Weekly asynchronous tournament mode if you want to grind the leaderboard and fight for the prize pool.
Why I Built It
I wanted something familiar, fast, and replayable, but still native to Hive. Minesweeper is one of those timeless games where every run feels a little different, and it fits really well with speed-based competition.
Also, I wanted to keep pushing this idea that we can have genuinely fun games on Hive, not just "blockchain first" experiments.
Tournament Mode (The Fun Part)
Tournament mode is where things get spicy:
- One weekly tournament at a time.
- Entry is 10 HIVE.
- Unlimited attempts for entrants during that tournament window.
- Top 3 split the winners share at the end.
- Platform takes 5%, 10% gets burned to
@null, winners share 85%.
Each new tournament rolls automatically, and if you want in for the next one, you re-enter for that tournament. Clean and simple.
Built Fast, Built Right
Because Hiveword and Hivesweeper share a lot of core plumbing (auth, wallet flow, server patterns, deployment flow), I could move fast without cutting corners.
That let me focus on the game feel, tournament flow, payout rules, and making the whole thing feel clear for players from the first click.

If you jump in, let me know what feels good, what feels off, and what you want next. More modes and improvements are already on my radar. Also join the Discord with bugs/feedback/suggestions: https://discord.gg/8WRFebdYfs there could be some bugs, but like with everything I ship, I iterate and respond very fast to resolve issues and action improvements.
