The first step in making the top was cutting the pieces. Since I'm going to use the joinery technique, I cut two pieces for the front and two pieces for the back. I cut both pieces in wine and gray. I really like this sewing technique because of the neat result, with the seams hidden.

El primer paso para la elaboración del top, fue cortar las piezas, como voy a usar la técnica del embonado se cortan dos piezas del delantero y dos piezas del posterior, corté ambas piezas en color vino y gris, esta técnica de costura me gusta mucho por el resultado prolijo, con las costuras ocultas.
The second step was to place the back pieces right sides together and attach the elastic (27 centimeters) at the top, securing it with a pin for easier sewing. Then, I placed the front pieces right sides together, pinned them, and sewed the armholes and neckline with a straight stitch. On the back piece, I sewed the armholes, neckline, and shoulders, leaving the sides and hem open.
El segundo paso, fue enfrentar derecho con derecho las piezas del posterior y colocar el elástico (27 centímetros) en la parte superior, sujeté con alfiler para más comodidad al momento de coser, luego enfrenté las piezas delanteras por el derecho, fijé con alfileres y cosí con puntada recta las sisas y cuello, en la pieza trasera cosí sisa, cuello y hombros, dejando abiertos los costados y bajo.
To join the front and back pieces, I placed them right sides together and, through the opening at the shoulders of the front piece, I passed the bias tape through the hole, pinned it, and sewed a double stitch with a straight stitch to reinforce the first one.
Para unir la pieza delantera y posterior enfrenté derecho con derecho y por la abertura que quedó en los hombros del delantero, por el orificio pasé el sesgo,sujeté con alfileres y pasé doble costura con puntada recta, para asegurar la anterior.
Then I turned the piece right side out and aligned the side seams, pinning them in place and sewing with a straight stitch.
This top doesn't have bias binding at the hem; instead, I reduced it by three centimeters so it fits snugly.
Luego volteé la pieza por el derecho y enfrenté los costados, de tal forma que coincidan las costuras de la sisa, fijé con alfileres y también cosí con puntada recta.
Este top no lleva sesgo en el bajo, para ello se le hizo una reducción de tres centímetros y así se ajusta muy bien al bajo.
