Hello everyone
It's a beautiful day to you all out there and I hope you all are doing just great, it's my pleasure to be here again after awhile, I'm so much happy to share with you the making of this turban cap I made from a left over fabric I made for my sister.
It's been awhile a made an outfit for my sister who insisted I make a simple gown outfit for her, recently, I traveled home and as I always do, I make sure I go home with different outfits for my sisters and their children that is if I'm so chanced, but this particular time, I had it in mind to make for just one of my elder sister because of her frequent call that I should make sure I come with something nice for her, though for me, I was so busy making plans for my wedding and I had no time to make outfit for everybody, luckily enough for her, I was able to make this simple gown outfit with wrapped upper bodice and 360° flare and it was so nice.
After the making of this beautiful gown, which I saw that was ok, at some point, I thought of having it for myself 😂😂😂 I had some left over from the fabric, well at first, it never occurred to me that I could make something nice from the pieces, which can be used to compliment the gown outfit, though, anytime I finish making an outfit, the left over is always kept safe for future use, just as we all know here that every pieces count down to the last piece, I did same with the left over fabric.
Few days later, I came across someone who was wearing an outfit with a turban cap made from same fabric and immediately, I thought of the outfit I made for my sister with the left over fabric, but I was contemplating if the left over fabric would be enough for the type of cap I saw, when I got home, with the same knowledge I had on how to make a turban cap, I tried calculating the amount of fabric I had left and the type of cap but unfortunately it was not enough so I had to look for a simplier turban cap with the pieces I had left.
Fortunately enough for me, I came across this simple turban cap on YouTube and the pieces was enough with my calculations.
To make the turban cap, I took the circumference measurement of my head to be 21, then on the left over fabric, I measured 24" by 5.5" on fold in two places, then it was taken to my sewing machine to sew the sides on the two pieces as shown below.
The two pieces were used to cross the other in an x form after I turned it inside out while I used hand need and thread to sew it at the middle
The two edges were sewn together leaving an opening in front.
The two ends were sewn together with hand needle just to make it tight with a long stitch.
Finally, my turban cap is ready.
This is the final outcome of the turban cap I made to compliment my sister's gown outfit, see how it's looking so beautiful on me...
I love that I was able to make this beautiful cap from a left over fabric.
