Gotta watch my back! In this case, my rearview mirror! I was out during the Golden Hour looking for a good spot to take pictures. As we pulled over the sun hit me right in my eyes as the rearview mirror reflected its' light onto my face. "Stop! Don't move the car!" I shouted. (My friend was driving). It was the perfect angle!

I was fighting with this one for a little bit as I tried to get the shot I was looking for. I was focused on the rear view mirror itself, until I got the last shot (as shown above). The trees in the background appeared to be in line with the trees in the mirror, making it look like some kind of illusion. I loved this! As I messed around with different angles, slowly but surely the alignment of the trees popped out at me.
Once I had a good idea as to what I was looking for, there wasn't any need to get out of the vehicle. I had my perfect goldenhour shot! Once I had the shot, I had to clean up a bit... as you can see below, the visor is definitely getting in the way.
I've been so busy lately that I've been forgetting my camera at home a lot. This makes for many missed opportunities for great photo's. Just the other day there was an ominous cloud surrounding the middle of our communications towers so I could see the top of the towers and the bottom. It was beautiful...but of course, I didn't have my camera with me. It's hard to lug that thing around everywhere I go. I definitely don't like to leave $1200 worth of gear in the car, so I always consider if I'm better off leaving it at home. Well...you know what they say, no risk, no reward! I should just consider my camera as jewelry and wear it as a necklace!
