Ephesians 6:18
Praying at all times with all kinds of prayers and supplications in the Spirit, watching over this purpose with all perseverance and prayer for all the saints.
In this verse, the concept of praying does not mean that we should always pray at every moment, but that we should be able to take advantage of opportunities to pray. At all times there is a specific kind of prayer to be made, since changing needs also changes the type of prayer that must be made. Each type of prayer has a particular function, but the most important thing is that it must always be in line with the Word of God.
We must learn to make the correct sentence for each type of situation. For example, there is a prayer of faith that serves to receive;
Prayer of agreement; Unanimous prayer or group prayer.
Let's see two examples of unanimous prayer:
Acts 4:24.
And they, having heard it, lifted up their voice to God, and said: Sovereign Lord, you are the God who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them;
Acts 12:12.
And having considered this, the mother of John came to Mary's house, the one who was surnamed Mark, where many were gathered praying.
If two already agree, the prayer is powerful, much more so when a group gathers, as we have seen in these two examples!
Every situation requires a divine solution; If we want to find it, we must go to God and not look for human and incorrect solutions.
Intercession Prayer.
Intercessory prayer is an act of love because we dedicate our time to others; but the most effective prayer of intercession is when we identify with the difficult condition of other people, with a heart full of compassion.
Jesus' most powerful intercession prayer, because He died for us, became what we were to become what He is. Jesus had compassion for the crowds.
Matthew 14:14.
And Jesus going out, saw a great multitude, and had compassion on them, and healed them that were sick of them.
Jesus looked at people with love and compassion, for this he did them good! In fact, true compassion leads to action, otherwise it is not compassion, but only emotion.
Prayer of adoration.
When we become worshipers we place Jesus in the right place of our life, we give importance to the presence and communion with God. God seeks the true worshipers!
Psalm 95: 6
Come, let us adore and prostrate;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
In this verse, we first understand that a worshiper presents himself in prayer as a creature before his creator and is aware that everything he is, everything he owns or does is due to God, and is full of gratitude. thus! But the other important concept is that the Lord cares for His flock now and always responds to needs! He is the good shepherd who does not abandon his sheep!
Jesus heard the voice of the Father every morning!
Isaiah 50: 4.
The Lord God gave me the tongue of the wise, to know how to speak words to the weary; he will wake up tomorrow after tomorrow, wake up my ear so he can hear like the wise.
We notice that God renews our strength and does not abandon us! God wants a daily relationship with us, because he has a fresh word every day for us. God has called us to live in the present, not in the past, so today is the time to see God's intervention!
Prayer is in the Spirit.
We return to read Ephesians 6:18
Praying at all times with all kinds of prayer and supplication in the Spirit, observing this purpose with all perseverance and prayer for all the saints.
We can pray in this way whenever we wish, because the Holy Spirit always inspires us. Pray in tongues, builds our whole being (spirit, soul and body) and provides rest and refreshment to our lives.
Isaiah 28: 11-12
11 because in the language of stutterers, and in a strange tongue he will speak to this people, 12 to whom he said: This is the rest; give rest to the weary; and this is the refreshment; but they did not want to hear.
God wants to give us peace. We can get a spiritual refreshment by praying in tongues. The Bible says that we have the opportunity to pray in the Holy Spirit, and that means that everything we say is pronounced under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14: 4
He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies builds the church.
To be edified we do not need to understand what we say by praying in tongues, but to build we must release understandable words.
1Corinthians 14: 14-15
14 because, if I pray in another language, my spirit prays well, but my mind remains unsuccessful. 15 What should we do? I will pray with the spirit, but I will also pray with the mind; I will sing with the spirit, but I will also sing with the mind.
From these verses we can say that we all know how to pray well, no one prays badly when we pray in the Spirit, and we can all sing in the Spirit.
When we pray and sing in the Spirit we become sensitive to the spiritual world, so the more we pray, the more real the spiritual world becomes in our life; For this reason, fasting and prayer increase our spiritual sensitivity.
Often, however, we go through times when we do not know how to pray or what to pray, and the solution can be read in Romans 8:26.
And in the same way the Spirit helps us in our weakness; For what we have to ask for as we should, we do not know, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspeakable groans.
