As far as weeks go, it has been yet another normal week for me playing Splinterlands. I've been simply farming my dailies and such and taking part in the occasional tournament as time permits. I do expect it to get MUCH busier in a matter of 24 hours as the End of Season comes but that is another story for next week's dairy entry 😉.
In the wider world of Splinterlands, there has been some interesting developments and proposals. First of all, the BIGGEST news to date is possibly the launch of the RUNI on OPENSEA 😱. This is the very first time ever that Splinterlands has ever had a generative NFT minted there and it could be a sign of bigger things to come! 😱
There is also another huge proposal that could change the dynamics of what we've been expecting for the remaining Chaos Legion packs too! TLDR, it's about BURNING them all! 🔥😱
But before I go into detail...
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 49th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 37th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

As I mentioned earlier on, this past week was a routine farming of my daily focuses and gathering the rewards therein. There isn't anything in particular that screams JACKPOT, but on the whole, everything was pretty average and run of the mill.
It's not all that bad though, as I believe a slow and steady grind will enable me to reap the rewards in the future should Splinterlands rise to the top again during a bull market. 🤑📈 Until then, I'll just continue at it 😁.
My quest for more Gold Foil Legendary cards from my rewards chests continues on ("Greed is Good!" 😈). It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉. Here's to more jackpot strikes in the future (i hope) 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀.
My accumulation of the Splinterlands Nightmare packs AKA Tower Defense continues. I now have 185 packs generating an estimated 19+ SPS per day 🤑.
(I really should make a table showing my costs of each pack which I ONLY buy at a significant discount on HIVE ENGINE 😜, but that will a story for another day)

And here it is! The Runi MINT on Opensea is LIVE! After the lightning quick sellout of whitelist spots almost a month ago, all those lucky players who managed to reserve themselves a slot are now able to mint their RUNI NFTs!
They are the very first generative NFT for Splinterlands! Players who mint them will receive a unique one-of-a-kind Legendary character that will be playable within the game!
As quoted by the team:
"With more than 2 billion possible trait combinations, no two Runi are the same. Each is uniquely yours, making it quite possibly the MOST special card introduced into the game. By connecting your Ethereum wallet to Splinterlands, your Runi becomes playable in battle as a max level Legendary Neutral card!"
Well, based on all the different Runi's I've seen from all the lucky people who managed to get their hands on, I can say that I have yet to see any repeated Runis. 🤣 The odds of rolling 2 exact same ones within 2 billion possible combinations is almost effectively ZERO!
The artwork is amazing, and their abilities are going to make them a force to be reckoned with in battles. 💪
🔥🔥🔥BURNING THE REMAINING UNSOLD CHAOS LEGION PACKS???!!!🔥🔥🔥
Now here's some shocking news! A recent proposal was just raised which suggested burning all the remaining CL packs on a daily basis! This will make CL packs much rarer and is something to be considered carefully.
I've left the link below for any interested readers to take a look and form your own opinions. Personally, I'm still not quite sure what to think of this. I will probably have to read around for everyone's opinions before I can carefully consider forming my own.

Suffice to say, if passed, this could have lots of implications on the value of Chaos Legion cards/packs. Will this be a good money making opportunity? Or will it cause unnecessary scarcity? Who knows? 🤷♂

And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 32.7k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 696k away from the 11 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
