Winter is approaching the city where I live. So far it still feels like fall. Sunny skies, rain, and cold. I feel no desire to leave the house, even for a much-needed walk.
It is always at such moments that my brain refuses reality and takes refuge in memories, the most beautiful memories.
My fondest memories are of the sea.
Looking out the window at the rain that hasn't stopped for three days, I think of my most recent trip to the sea. It's been a little over two months since then, was at the end of September, in Balchik, Bulgaria, a place I visited a couple of times, every year.
The weather was beautiful in September, it was like an Indian Summer.
The walk I will show here will be made up of some memories kept in the photos of the Black Sea, in Balchik.
In this part of the world, in Eastern Europe, fall begins in September and the summer vacation season is over. The weather turns cold and wet. This year it was different and warmer, so tourists stayed in the resorts.
There's no hint that it's no longer summer.
The walk is along the same promenade that separates the hotels from the seaside terraces. On vacation, people are much more loose, free, and fun-loving and I like to observe and photograph them.
Balchik is a resort where there are not many beaches and places to bathe in the sea, and because of this, those who want to bathe are forced to find unusual places.
I remember it was a little hidden summer that fall month. Those who see these pictures are convinced that it is summer, and yet, there are a few signs and feelings that show otherwise...
What showed that summer was no longer, that the season was no longer the same, was the feeling of the end given by the tourists who were fewer and fewer. This was best seen at the terraces along the seafront.
There were more and more empty terraces, and almost all the chairs were empty. That's what I noticed when I reviewed the photos. I saw that there are many photos of these terraces!
All these places eager for tourists, but more and more empty, induce a feeling of nostalgia and a longing for next year's vacation, which we can't know if it will be!
Only our four-legged friend is probably dreaming of something else...
I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words...
Since we all love photography, let’s explore the captivating details captured in these photos.!
A wise saying goes that a photograph is worth a thousand words, but I don't think so.
It depends on the viewer.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss.
This is one of the recommendations made by for those who prefer walking and are used to sharing impressions and photos in his community, Wednesday Walk, every Wednesday, like this one today.
