It happened like this. First I drove about four kilometers to the village called Liznjan.
There is a small grocery store by the road that leads from the old center to the small port of that village ...
... a great place to quietly buy some simple groceries when the stores in my hometown are overcrowded with tourists.
I bought the bread, milk, eggs ... and some other stuff ... and then ...
... I went for a little walk around that neighborhood.
There wasn't much to photograph, this is a pretty unremarkable part of Liznjan, so I started spying on people ... people are always kind of interesting on the photographs :)
A man was talking on the mobile phone on the balcony. It looked like some serious conversation was going on.
While still standing on the small parking area in front of the store, I noticed a used Covid mask when I take a look at what's going on down below, before my feet. That was a photogenic little detail, which remind us that the virus is still active in this relaxed summer atmosphere.
These colorful pennants ...
... were hanging on a line above my head.
At the entrance of the neighboring yard, I noticed a concrete ball, more or less the size of a basketball ball. It wasn't the most interesting thing in the world, but it looked kinda cool ... so I took this shot.
About a hundred meters further, along the road that leads to the port, two people were working on the rooftop of some building under construction. I pass them by, and then ...
... some minutes and about half kilometer later, I was in the port ...
... and I photographed the little fruits & vegetables stand there. The farmers had just arrived to sell their local, homegrown products.
After buying a piece of watermelon and a handful of tomatoes, I returned to the
mini-market, where my car was parked.
I took another generic shot of the area in front of the store, and then entered the car.
When I opened the door, I noticed a small spider resting near the handle. I took this shot, then I pushed the spider to the palm of my hand, and brought him to the vegetation across the street. With that done, it was time to drive to the nearest city, the city of Pula, about ten kilometers northwest of Liznjan.
I parked on the parking lot by some suburban buildings, just out of the center of the city. Not far from the office where I had to do some paperwork and stuff.
I arrived at the large crossroad surrounded by some relatively big buildings. These are the police headquarters for the whole region.
Here I had to stop, because the traffic light in front of me was red.
While waiting for the green, I had the opportunity to photograph this little wall lizard.
At one point, pretty suddenly, a wave of traffic appeared like a river of cars ...
... with a couple of motorcycles thrown in the mix.
When the last cars passed me by ...
... the light turned green, and the small humanoid inside it changed the pose.
A moment later, I was passing by another big building.
These are the offices of some insurance company.
I caught some nice reflections on that blue building.
A bit further, I crossed another street ...
... and approached another relatively large building covered with mirrors.
This is a bank. You can see the police and the insurance company buildings, reflected in its glass facade. The city is mostly made of smoke and mirrors.
This is another blue reflection ... on some small building ... that looks like a solidly built booth or something like that. A pretty strange little construction. I don't know what its function is.
These days are very hot and dry, the peak of the tourist season is still going on, so in between the fires and car accidents, the firefighters have plenty of work. This truck was
hurrying, and his siren was on.
I took this selfie in some storefront window along the way ...
... and photographed some cars waiting for the green signal ... and then ... I entered some office building, did what I had to do, and returned home.
As always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work.
