Something I Can Teach You About
Now, this is funny. I'm a BSEd graduate, but I can hardly think of one!
Anyway, have you ever tried doing something that you could barely finish or keep doing because you lack the drive, lose the purpose or feel lazy?
Let me teach you how to become motivated based on my own experience:
Begin with an end in mind.
Before you do something, you must first establish a strong mindset that you will do your best to see the desirable end of what you want to start doing. If you don't, you're most likely just going to waste your time, energy, and resources because you will most likely fail.Stay away from distractions.
For example, you should turn your mobile data off when writing an article or blog. This will stop the pop-up notifications from your SNS which would tempt you to stop writing and start checking your friends' messages, watching videos on TikTok, or scrolling over your FB newsfeed.Set a sufficient time limit for your task.
This will really help you improve your self-discipline. If you finish your tasks on or before the deadline you set, you will most likely do the same in your other tasks in the future.Set reinforcements for yourself.
Promise yourself a reward when you complete a task. "I'll treat myself to the cinema when I get my project done!" "I'll buy myself a new pair of shoes if I finish a 2km jog for the first time this morning"! Reinforcement equals motivation.Love your work.
Do something that you really want to do. That will greatly contribute to your success rate. If you love what you are doing, you get to use your full potential which would give you an excellent outcome or output.
The Most Useful Thing I Own
I was going to say "hands", but my thoughts are getting weird so never mind.
Kidding aside, I can say that the most useful thing that I own is my smartphone.
Here's a list of how it provides me the convenience that I need every day:
When I wake up, the first thing that I check is the time through my smartphone. I wear a watch when I go out, but I actually check the time through my smartphone except when I'm at work because we are not allowed to bring gadgets inside the office.
I send and receive messages from people through my smartphone. Who sends telegrams and letters nowadays anyway?
I get news updates, watch movies, and listen to music on the go through my smartphone. It's fun to watch TV shows with my family for sure, but I'm living alone in the city right now so it wouldn't really make sense if I have a TV inside my room when all I want to do is sleep when I get home from work.
I make money using my smartphone. If you are reading this, then we're on the same page! But I hope that there is more than earning from our blogs, like learning something as we read each other's works.
- I use my smartphone to capture or record memorable experiences. I know that our brains hold more memory capacity than a 1TB memory card, but we actually tend to forget prior memories because they get overwritten by new ones. So It would be nice to use our smartphones to take a picture or video of every moment that we find special and extraordinary.
- I can travel all around the world virtually through my smartphone. I would love to go to every single country and be listed in the Guinness Book of World records, but I know that that's only going to remain as my wishful thinking. Thanks to my smartphone, world trip has become a lot easier now!
