Ride to Bobbin Head to walk a track I have not walked for a while. Hoping to find greenhood orchids. Really was a day for mushrooms - tis the season
Mushrooms in amongst the orchids
Acianthus fornicatus - wider galea and calli on labellum and two stripes
These orchids have me confused - wide version. And narrow version. Stripes and calli are similar.
Next find was lucky. I looked across to rock faces where sharp greenhoods were flowering in April and saw this top down view at ground level at my feet.
View from the back is not enough for ID.
Squeezed my phone between rock and flower to get front on view.
Sepals not long enough for sharp greenhood. Labellum is straight and not curved - not curta. Shared the post - ID could be pterostylis hildae.
Mushrooms are really diverse - purplish
Ochre
Turning up
Living off fallen logs
Heard a crunching noise - stopped and walked up off the track to find red tailed black cockatoo. Hard to photograph but I did get video.
Great views down to Apple Tree Bay
Walked above regional office car park to check a narrow strip of rainforest. Lots of acianthus leaves and a few flowers. Not many good photos - just one to confirm acianthus fornicatus.
Mushrooms were the highlight - red plus spider web
Kept coming back to get decent photos of this pair
- smaller one was less than an inch high
Next is a bit phallic and slightly out of focus
A tidy stem of acianthus
Love the shiny dome on this mushroom
And then found this mushroom in the orchid leaves. It is the size of one of those plastic headed pins your mother had
Maybe time to become a mushroom spotter. Heaps of mushrooms and 2 maybe 3 orchids.
15 km bike ride and one big hill
Dinner: simple bbq sausages.
Trade action: Bought replacements for stock assigned: CA.PA, ENGI.PA, RAND.AS, CBK.DE, DBK.DE plus adding to DD. Covered calls and a few naked puts written.
