Hi guys it's me again with my entry for my own art challenge ~~ My Daily Illustration Challenge, and today is my 3rd day of drawing illustrations.
I'm going to collect illustrations of random home stuffs and decors and I only made two items yet so today I'm adding a new one and I found Ikea Vase as my reference base.
I like this one and this is soo aesthetic, I love the shape and the design and that's what makes me want to draw.
So let's go guys, I'm gonna walk you through my art process! ~~
(I'm now putting this first as my blog cover incase I forget to edit the cover image)
- This is my rough sketch and first I drew lines measuring the gap of the curves and the starting points of the outline's elements. I can use ruler with the straight lines and circle with the bent lines but with the irregular curve shapes, it is manually shaped.
- But I discovered that to get this fine line curves without ruler, there is a drawing tool called Bézier Curve and I use that when it comes to curves. Anyway I adjusted the body length and width of this vase cuz it was too small, smaller than the head.
- So here is my color palette. First is for shadow, second the neutral color and the third one is for the highlight.
- These are my brushes complete package. Marker brush ~ outline, Pen fade ~ Initial painting, Airbrush trapezoid ~ Smooth blending
- Use pen fade for thiss~~ assigning the shade of colors to the sketch for initial touch. I have learned here that saving at least three colors in your palette is essential to make a blending~ the neutral, shadow, and highlight.
- And I can't skip using Airbrush to make the color blending smoother, so voilaaa ~
What I discovered in ibispaint today is~~
• Using Bézier Curve for drawing curves.
• Draw lines locating the starting point and edges of the outline.
• I can also use liquify pen for manipulating shapes.
My key takeaway for this art study today is~~
• Having at least three colors in your palette is enough to make a blending.
This is all for this day and thank you guys for reading my art blog, goodbye and till next blog again~~
