Hi dear hivers, I would like to share with you the very intimate, simple yet amazing wedding I attended — the wedding of my friend.
I’ve known these lovebirds for quite a long time. Angel, the bride, was my former workmate, and I honestly didn’t expect that we would become friends — but it happened, and we grew close. We spent our free days hanging out together whenever we could. We shared our love stories, laughed at them, and even had sleepovers at their apartment whenever we wanted to have some drinks and catch up. That was also the time I became friends with Vic, the groom. I’m actually older than both of them, so they eventually became like my younger sister and brother. Angel would even joke around and call me “Ma,” short for “Mama.”
Then one day, she told us that she was getting married to her longtime boyfriend and best friend, Vic. We were so happy for them because we knew everything they had been through over the years.
On the day of the wedding, we checked in at a resort in Batangas. The girls, the boys, and the other family members of the bride and groom all stayed in separate rooms. This was also my first time meeting the other friends of the bride and groom, as well as their families. They were all so cool and easy to get along with. We had such a great time the night before the wedding, preparing everything needed for the next day. When the day finally came, everyone woke up early and started doing their makeup. Before anything else, we had a photoshoot—and it was such a fun session by the beach. There was endless laughter, and everyone enjoyed the photoshoot. We spent a few hours doing it since striking the perfect pose isn’t always easy, but the smiles on our faces made it all worthwhile.
After the photoshoot, we went back to prepare for the wedding ceremony. Once everyone was ready, we left the room and headed to the church. All the guests were present, and the wedding ceremony began. It was indeed a very intimate and beautiful wedding. All of us were crying while listening to the father’s homily, all the way through their vows and their ‘I do’s.’ We felt the sincerity. After the ceremony, we had a photoshoot before heading back to the reception.
We also had a wonderful time at the reception. From giving our messages to the newlyweds to celebrating until the very end, we truly enjoyed ourselves. It was very intimate, as the guests were only the families of the newlyweds and a few selected close friends. I’m glad to be part of this beautiful day, especially as someone who helps guide them along their path. I was so moved by my friend’s wedding. It was indeed a meaningful day for everyone.
That will be all for now, and I hope you enjoyed this wonderful love story. I’ll catch you in my next blog. Have a lovely day, everyone!
