Hi dear Hivers and fam! I’ve been sharing my stories and adventures from my international trip, but this one is the most unforgettable memory — a place I’ll keep on coming back to. And as I promised in my previous blog, I’m finally sharing this story with you!
So when you’re ready, just sit back, relax, and let me take you on my wonderful and lovely adventure!😉
I’ve always dreamed of going to Europe. When I was a child, I loved seeing castles and fairytales fascinated me. As I grew older, I started admiring the beautiful landscapes and how peaceful, calm, and serene Europe is. One day, I told myself that someday I would visit a country in Europe — and maybe even settle there.
That dream finally came true, dear Hivers! I made it! My first country is Germany. I’m here because of my boyfriend who lives here, and I’m so glad he let me visit his place. He lives in Lindau, Germany , near the beautiful Lake Constance and close to the borders of Austria and Switzerland.
Their place is really lovely! I love the balcony because it overlooks the lake and even two countries. One day, his mother invited me to go to Insel (which means “island”). They wanted to tour me around since my boyfriend was at work at that time. His mother, together with Auntie Sylvia and Auntie Petra — her close friends invited me to join them.
We drove to the island and walked around as they gave me a tour of the area. The City Hall and its architecture are so beautifully designed! I was truly amazed by all the buildings there. As we continued walking, we passed by different stores and restaurants too.
The most exciting part was when they pointed out the very famous Rapunzel’s castle or a fairytale tower that’s actually called the Mangturm. According to the research The Mangturm is a medieval watchtower built in the 12th century. It stands right by the harbor, near the famous Bavarian Lion statue and Lighthouse. As I got closer, my heart felt so happy, and the smile on my face couldn’t be replaced. It truly felt like a dream come true!
And now we’re here at Lindau Harbor — the main port area of the island. This is one of the most famous harbors in Germany because of its iconic entrance: on one side stands the Bavarian Lion statue, and on the other, the Lindau Lighthouse. It offers a perfect view for sunsets, is one of the most photographed spots, and is also ideal for boat sailing.
Behind the Mangturm Tower, we had iced coffee to chill, relax, and enjoy the view of the harbor. We had so much fun walking around! We were able to go and see up close the Bavarian Lion statue and the lighthouse across from it. I’m so happy to see the beautiful and magical island of Lindau. I’m also very grateful to my boyfriend’s mom, Auntie Sylvia, and Auntie Petra for doing this for me.
I am beyond grateful to have witnessed how wonderful this place is — surely, a place I’ll keep on coming back to. I hope everyone enjoyed this adventure, and I’ll catch you again on my next lovely one!
Until the next adventure!
