Hi everyone in this community!
It’s been a long time since I last shared my coffee discovery experiences. Today, I’m excited to share a coffee spot we recently found in Binondo, Manila—a place worth checking out for fellow coffee lovers.
It was a fine Sunday morning when my sisters and friends planned a trip to Divisoria for the first fitting of my wedding dress. We eventually met in the afternoon since each of us had errands to attend to earlier in the day. The weather was perfect for walking along the streets, with people everywhere, bringing the place to life.
We first gathered at Lucky Chinatown Mall, which was our meeting place before heading to Tutuban Mall, where my dress fitting was scheduled. Once we finally saw each other, we started walking toward the dress shop. The walk wasn’t long since the malls are close to one another, but the real challenge was navigating through the crowded streets filled with shoppers everywhere. After the dress fitting, everyone wanted to go shopping on their own so they could choose and buy what they wanted. So we separated and agreed on a time and place to meet. When the time was up, we all decided to find a coffee shop where we could chill and relax after a tiring day.
They searched for the nearest coffee shop and found one nearby called Beanstro. We were curious about the place, so we all started walking toward it. It was just a few minutes’ walk.
The coffee shop had a nice color, and it was easy to spot and find. We were all excited since it was our first time trying this new coffee shop and curious about what was on their menu.
When we went inside, we were drawn to the interior design, which had an industrial style but still felt very cozy and chill. I started taking photos while looking for a seat, since the place was almost full when we arrived. Once we found seats, we started checking the menu and placed our orders.
I was happy to see Vietnamese coffee on their menu because it’s one of my favorites. They also had a limited-edition Christmas flavor, but I preferred the Vietnamese coffee. They had a wide selection, including coffee, non-coffee drinks, juices, and even food.
While waiting for our orders, we sat down and chatted about our experiences while shopping earlier in Divisoria, checking what each of us had bought.
Our orders were served, and we were all excited to try them. They had a Batírol drink, which we initially thought had coffee, but it turned out to be pure chocolate made with cacao—probably one of their specialties—with s’mores on top. We also ordered Vietnamese coffee, which my sister chose as well, a Biscoff frappe, and a Sea Salt Latte. Everyone took pictures first before we began tasting.
After sipping our drinks, we shared our thoughts. Everyone enjoyed their orders, but my take on the Vietnamese coffee was a bit different. The cacao powder on top overpowered the flavor, so it wasn’t what I expected. It was still okay—I just wanted to taste the classic Vietnamese coffee flavor.
We spent a few hours there enjoying the coffee, the place, and our conversations. Overall, it was a well-spent Sunday—tiring but definitely worth it, filled with fun and laughter.
Until my next coffee adventure dear Hivers! 🫶☕️
