Nice process of discernment dear Mariah !! π€πͺ· I agree, the lack of stem on these beauties certainly suggests they are less oyster-y... And absolutely, it is always wise to err on the side of safety.
Do you ever try some sort of an App to reinforce/ back-up your wisdom? We use mostly books (I have 6 or so, from UK and Italy), and often find that they show differing classifications (!) - while on the whole they are more accurate than an App. βΊοΈ (Mushby identified one photo of my hand holding a small twig with strong purple-coloured funghi on it - the fungo in the snapshot here.... as Dead Man's Fingers - πππ - hmmmmmm! π€)
