The place to spend a truly sentimental weekend with your family or with your sweetheart is Capri, an island famous for its rugged coastline and vertiginous cliffs that rise above an intense blue sea, the real jewel of the island. Capri is the center of high-class tourism, here there are luxury shops and hotels and it is normal to see women dressed in jewelry and bags worth thousands of euros.
The arrival on the island took place with ad hoc boats from the port of Naples, it is possible to embark the car and enter the island, between virtuous climbs and dizzying curves. Nature is the real protagonist, trees and plants are the green lung among which some inhabited centers and accommodation facilities have sprung up. In the summer, tourism crowds the island, it is unlikely to find a free hotel room without a reservation at least a couple of months in advance.
It is difficult to describe Capri if you have never visited it before. Many of my friends have tried to describe their experience to me but living it firsthand is truly indescribable. We walked around the town, visited the most fashionable streets and drank coffee in one of the most exclusive bars but nothing compared to the view that can be enjoyed from the most strategic points of the island. A breathless show to which it is not possible to add any comment and sit on a bench and admire the sea from the top of the earth, is the part of the holiday that I loved most.
Capri is famous for its sea and its caves carved into the rock by the sea over the centuries. The largest and most famous cave is called the Blue Grotto and together with the many other caves on the island, it attracts thousands of yachts every year. In some places it is even dangerous to dive for fear of being inadvertently overwhelmed by some boat.
A holiday in Capri is also very expensive, difficult for example to stay in a hotel or rent a house for less than 150/200 euros per day or have lunch for less than 30/40 euros per person. Strangely we did not find a market to buy food or drinks so we were forced to have lunch and dinner at the restaurant.
Capri remains a wonderful place to discover and enjoy to the fullest. Walking through the streets or stopping by the sea is certainly the most romantic thing you can do. A magical place to discover and enjoy in company but also in solitude!
