Hey everyone! I'm back today with another video — this time some free jazz keyboard improvisation. I'm enjoying getting back into playing and spontaneous exploration is my favorite way to play — just shutting off the mind and attempting to break out of preconceived assumptions about harmony. I find it really helpful to record and listen back to my playing as I can isolate any parts that were interesting, perhaps hinting at a novel pattern, and go back and replicate it and develop it further.
The main purpose is relaxation, enjoyment and experimentation — and if it ends up sounding halfway decent, well, that's a bonus. I paired this session with a recording of ambient water kindly provided by the user Kernowrules at freesound.org. I hope you enjoy this improv session and have a great day!
