I'm here to share my thoughts about the last space in HiveCuba´s X about Evergreen Rewards system
Just a few hours ago,
Hive account@hivecuba and Eric (
Hive account@anomadsoul ) hosted a X space where they gave a detailed explanation of the *Evergreen Rewards* system and addressed all the questions and concerns raised by participants, especially regarding the development of Inleo.
You can listen to the space (in Spanish) here. So, let me give you a summary of what was discussed and share my personal opinion on these topics. Get comfortable and let's dive in...
First and foremost, in case you're not aware, the Evergreen Rewards system will soon be deployed, allowing your posts to generate traffic beyond the usual 7-day monetization period on Hive. The only condition to qualify for this system is to publish using the Inleo frontend. You can post in your preferred communities, but always do it from the Inleo frontend.
The benefits of this system are numerous, both in the short and long term. Of course, the first benefit is extended monetization beyond the initial 7 days. No more rushing to promote your article everywhere within the first 24 hours.
With the launch of Evergreen, our content has the potential to become timeless. If you're one of those users who promotes their content on web2, say goodbye to the pressure of promoting your article because nobody votes beyond the first 48 hours.
The system tracks traffic, so you don't have to worry about whether you'll get votes or not. This was one of my concerns because many users, once the 7-day limit is passed, don't vote even if they highly value the publication because they know it doesn't contribute anything. You just need to focus on generating traffic, whether through clicks or article views, and you'll be generating rewards.
Another benefit of this system is the opportunity to reinvest what you earn within the Inleo ecosystem. By generating earnings in $LEO, you can make LPUD (Liquidity Provider Unstake Delay) and passively generate more $LEO, thereby increasing your influence and chances of being curated by Inleo. It's a completely passive growth derived from the earnings of your older posts. Tempting, isn't it?
Who can benefit the most from Evergreen Rewards? The answer is: EVERYONE. The only limit is yourself and what you set out to create and promote.
To be more specific and thinking quickly, I see it as highly beneficial for accounts that create tutorials, guides, DIY projects, recipes, reviews, photography, and, of course, Vlogs and Shorts.
Many of these cases involve timeless posts. The clearest example is that many guides (at least the ones in Spanish) provided to new users were written over a year ago (and unfortunately, the creators of those guides aren't receiving proportional earnings based on their usage).
My recommendation is that if your content falls into any of the categories I mentioned earlier, you should consider editing and updating your articles and publishing them from Inleo, starting now! Of course, it doesn't have to be all of your articles. In the first step, focus on the articles that you know would interest any type of internet user (stop thinking about Hive and start thinking about the world).
The opportunities are endless for these types of articles. This system opens up a world of possibilities.
If you're a content creator who focuses on storytelling or everyday life, you just need to find a way to make your content somewhat timeless. Maybe create a personal brand on web2 and redirect your followers to your Hive posts or publish the same content on other platforms but do it first on Hive.
In my case, this is the biggest challenge, and I'm studying how to transform my content to make it timeless and be able to earn from the system (I'll share it with you as soon as I figure it out).
It could also be the case that you don't have much traffic on your articles, but if you're someone who generates traffic on Inleo, you'll still be able to get your share of Evergreen. Anything that generates traffic will earn you rewards from the system, and I really liked that. It's a clever way for Inleo to reward content creators who choose to create from their frontend.
Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, Evergreen Rewards brings up a topic that is rarely practiced, used, or even known by most content creators on Hive, and I'm talking about SEO techniques or search engine optimization. It's an important topic because what good is having timeless content if you don't show up on the first page of search results in your browser?
Think about it for a moment... how often do you go to the second or third page of search results? That's what I mean. Getting to the top spots is quite a challenge. It's not impossible, but it requires effort. And here's where the beauty of Hive comes in: every day you have to study, improve, and keep growing. Reinvent yourself or die.
Eventually, this system will increase the quality of posts within Hive. Whether you like it or not, the competition for curation and traffic will be higher in terms of quality and quantity. So, if you don't apply SEO, you'll have to apply other strategies to keep receiving curation. And with the content becoming timeless, we'll have a higher-quality Hive in the long run.
Evergreen Rewards is not just a challenge for users, but also for the InLeo team itself. With the potential increase in traffic, they need to improve the user experience at a much higher level and pace than what we currently know. Eric mentioned having a conversation with Khal where they agreed to halt the release of new features until the existing ones are fully functional.
I think it's a very wise decision. It's true that InLeo has improved a lot, but the user experience can still be a real headache at times. In my case, a few days ago, communities like
Hive account@hivecuba or
Hive account@sketchbook stopped showing up with their names (on PC, this doesn't happen on mobile), and it also doesn't let me save my articles when they're finished (this happens on both devices). It also doesn't allow me to schedule them. These issues compromise the user experience, and as a content creator, I prefer using another frontend.
Eric did ask us to please provide feedback on any issues we encounter. Whether it's through the InLeo Discord server or by creating threads using #feedback and describing the problem along with some details, such as being logged in and the browser you're using. They will try to respond immediately, and if not, they will pass it on to the devs for a solution. I really appreciated this humility because it shows InLeo's commitment to their proposal and their users.
Another thing that was made clear during the event is the almost definite dismissal of developing mobile applications. Although I don't like that decision, I understand why they're doing it.
According to Eric, they've encountered ten thousand problems, especially with the App Store. Involving the $LEO token puts them in another category with stricter regulations and payment systems, making it very cumbersome. Upon hearing this news, I believe that the browser experience should improve twofold and at double speed; otherwise, all the work done and all the new features could go down the drain.
InLeo has a bright future. It's one of the few proposals (if not the only one) that has risen from scratch and done so in a different way. Implementing improvements takes time, so we still have a long way to go, but I think it will be an exciting journey. My recommendation is to study everything that comes up and adapt your content so that you can make the most of the time and effort you invest in those articles.
As a summary, I want you to take away the following points: Always remember to treat your account as a business. If you generate traffic on InLeo, you will be able to generate earnings from Evergreen Rewards. This system is based on the traffic generated by your posts, which will no longer be limited to 7 days of monetization (as long as they are posted through InLeo). To take advantage of this system, you will need to elevate the quality of your articles and, in particular, apply SEO techniques. And last but not least, provide as much feedback as you can to the InLeo development team so they can improve the user experience for everyone.
That's what was discussed in the event that took place in the HiveCuba community.
I can't say goodbye without asking you, what do you think of the Evergreen Rewards system? If you haven't studied it yet, I invite you to do so to take your content to the next level. If you want to comment on anything else, feel free to do so in the comments. I'll be happy to respond.
