The Hummingbirds visit our backyard starting around the end of March and stay till late in the fall to early winter. I started with only one feeder and now three years later I have had to add two more because of the number of Hummingbirds that visit and stay for most of the year.
Even with the three feeders, they empty one or two of them per day so I am always feeling them back up with sugar water. I do not add dye or coloring as I heard that was bad for the birds. I have counted up to 12 at one time flying around the feeders. The busiest times for the hummingbirds is at dawn and dusk but there is almost always one at the feeder at anytime during the day.
This past winter, I found one of their empty nests so that is probably why their numbers keep climbing year after year.
