Hello! A pleasant day to all especially to all friendly and supportive people in this community. How are you? Well, I hope everyone is fine and safe all the time. Today I will share how I prepared mango jam as one of our value-added products in the SUBUsog Competition. Value-added Product is one criterion in the SUGBUsog sa Eskuylan Program in choosing the best implementer. I already mentioned here in one of my previous blogs about this program. To recall, SUGBUSog sa Eskuylahan is a program initiated by Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia. This program aims to have a hunger-free society, to instill in the mind of our learners the value of agriculture, and to teach them the importance of having vegetables in our daily diet. All schools in Deped Cebu province implemented the said program.
Every year there will be an evaluation of this program to check its proper implementation. It has been said also that the only way to implement the program is through competition. This is not the first time our school was evaluated, but it is already in the third round. The school chosen as first at the municipal level will compete at the legislative district level. The winner of every legislative district will then compete at the provincial level. There are several criteria to be rated during the evaluation and value-added is one of the criteria. We don't want to miss every criterion so I decided to prepare Mango Jam and Mixed Vegetables Pickles.
In this blog, I will share first the Mango Jam. I chose mango because almost all parts here in our country are planted with mango. It is also our national fruit and it's in season here. Therefore there were a lot of supplies of mango in the market at low cost. Mango is rich in vitamins and minerals. It is also a good source of fiber, and antioxidants, and good for the eyes.
