Hello, friends especially needleworkers!
Today i would like to share how i made this super cute chick, a draw string bag from felt material which we could use to put easter treats or any small things. This chic bag was useful and so cute.
Project Time: approximately 4-5 hours
Difficulty: Medium
Skills needed:
- whipped stitch
- running stitch
Materials & Things needed:
- Felt fabrics in yellow, orange, pink, and black
- scissors
- sewing needle
- pink ribbon 0.6 cm width with the length around 40-50 cm
- embroidery floss in yellow, orange, black and pink, for each sewing i i used 2 strands of the floss
How i made it:
1ST
I started by cutting the yellow felt for the bag's basic parts like below. Then, i trimmed the left and right of the bottom part. I also prepared two long rectangles to put the ribbon.
2ND
Then i continued cutting the yellow felt for the wings and also orange felt for two feet and a beak.
3RD
Next, i continued by cutting the two black circles for the eyes and two pink circles for the cheeks.
4TH
After that, i whipped stitched the two eyes with double strands of black floss. Then i also whipped stitch the beak with orange floss and whipped stitched the cheeks with the pink floss. Next i did the running stitch for the yellow rectangle, to joined it to the front part. I also didn't forget to put the ribbon inside.
5TH
I also did the same for the back part, the same ribbon inside too. Then i put the two wings between the front and the back part.
6TH
Next, i did the running stitch to join the wings between front and back part. I also put the two feet and did the running stitch to them too, to join them with the front and back part. After that all i needed to do was the last thing, running stitched around the whole bag. Then i knotted the pink ribbon and voila, the draw string chick treat bag, already finished.
Here how the bag looks, front & bag. And now i could use it to put easter treats. Chic!
