The Hare the Crow and the Toad kept watch in mi'ladies Garden
Many neighbors found it odd that such a trio of creatures should happily inhabit the little walled garden.
"Surely you'd not want that hare about, eating up your veg",
A neighbor would say. Mi'lady simply smiled and hold out her arm where upon the crow would swoop in and land, giving a quizzical look to such queries.
"The Toad, one understands," gossiped a neighbor, "They eat up bugs and slugs...but a hare? and a Crow?
Toad knew. He knew the treble power of three and knew his chums quite well.
When the night would begin to fall and dusk cast it's shadow on them all, they'd dance and flash and sing and the garden, pests and all, would grow and flourish and wing it's way into Life. Then they'd feast, the Trio, on the abundance.
That is how Mi'ladies garden grows
Today is #MarketFriday but I also wanted to share what I've been working on in the studio. This piece I shared a few years back:
A lovely decorative piece I made to adorn some lovely items. That is where the #MarketFriday comes in. I thought I could share how this piece, in it's original colors here, came out upon things such as
Even Slingback Deck Chairs
Which in all is rather a #MarketFriday kind of day. We can't always get out to do our marketing and tho now many of us are so Happy to have the freedom to be out and about in markets amongst people, it wasn't long ago when the #marketfriday was often in one's dressing gown on the phone or laptop.
I'm quite happy we have some of the Old Normal back but I do still like a marketing day online. I enjoy going and touching a thing in a shop, but it's also nice to stay in, by the fire, with a pot of tea and have a good browse digitally.
I Hope my #marketfriday virtual shop is still enjoyable

And enjoy a Friday indoors, or better yet, another wonderful way to shop, sit in the garden watching Nature and getting in a good #marketfriday.
Now, I've been having fun playing with colors
As I've mentioned before I love to take my traditional sketches
and make them digital and often my work, whether painting or decorative grahpics, start with sketches and end digitally these days.
The joy of having them thus is the fun in playin with color which is why this color way was born:
The images I used in my little 'story'. I hand outlined each section and then played with colors to get to this version. And of course, digitally we can easily try out various hues, which is not only fun, but makes new versions of things which I May use on things:
Tones of Purple and Aqua
Perhaps the mellow hues of greens and golds.
Or even a triad of color of pinks, reds, and blue
The added benefit of such color play is also helping one to try out various combinations for future works. Colorhas always been, to me, a character in my paintings. I often give it as much consideration as I do composition. And tho often my work starts out with sketches moving to composition, when I mess about with colors on the page or daub and dab with watercolors out in my journals or looking at nature, I can find interesting combinations.
Playing digitally with color too has that appeal and one may try out all sorts of combinations that would seen off or odd, only to find them pleasing or at least appealing to oneself. I still always make something to amuse me first and then worry if anyone else cares about it.
I hope you enjoyed this odd #MarketFriday mingled with #art stories and that you are having a lovely Friday. I also hope that you may find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions and as always remember to stay creative.
