I'm a nature fiend.
Haw River, NC
When I was growing up my mom used to paint a picture of heaven being always noon day sun and clear skies amidst streets paved with gold and mansions made of jewels. Even as a child I thought to myself "Ew."
That has never been what I pictured when I thought of a blissful hereafter. Give me rushing rivers and still lakes, forests and mountains, crashing ocean waves, waterfalls of every size.
Give me skies that change from the purest of blue, to white fluffy clouds and storm clouds alike. Sunsets of all hues, and black with a million stars.
Give me rolling, hilly meadows of the brightest green, and every type of flower to ever grow.
Give me nature in all its multi-faceted glory.
You can keep your sterile, unchanging city, I Like the dirt, and mud and sand.
I even like the thorn bushes and burdocks sticking to my clothes.
I will say there are some insects I can do without, like mosquitoes, ticks, roaches and flies, but perhaps a method of communication with these irritating little beings is all that would be needed.
Jordan Lake
Certainly a method of communication with animals, for the most part, would make all the difference...I did always appreciate the imagery of the lion laying down with the lamb.
So if those bugs were simply not stinging, biting or contaminating things with their dirty "feet" and feces, I might get along with them just fine.
Blood Moon Eclipse
Peace and harmony with all of the creatures and an infinite and diverse array of glorious vistas, that's the heaven I wish to ascend to.
