While we plan our year, one uncommon ritual is planning your musical goal. Strange right?, but that's one vital thing to do especially for people who not only sing, but also for those who are inspired by music. We can always do things like, planning the genre of music we hope to listen to, how often, and how we desire to grow(for people blessed with the talent to sing). Music isn't just mere strings of songs played to kill boredom, they also are entities that play a role in the existence of men. Even before the creation of earth, music existed-As written in several religious documentaries. So music isn't just songs, they're entities with a spirit.
Chatting today with a friend, he recommended that I sit under an atmosphere of music when I told him my spirit was weak about everything. It was evidence that music must have played a purpose of healing in his life at one point. The more we interact with music, the more we realize so many things that music can do, and the closer we become attached with it. For the purpose of the prompt, I'll be sharing my musical goal. I'm not a musician, but I'm a lover of music.
My first musical Goal is saturating myself with only music that uplift. It mustn't be a religious music, but any that has positive meaning. It wasn't a debate, but we all agreed that music has an effect on our spirit. Which means whatever we listen to has the power to influence certain actions and decisions we take in life. So my music playlist will be on filter, taking off any that doesn't uplift my spirit and a few that seem not to go well with my goals. It's all a thing of sacrifice for things of greater value to an individual.
Secondly, practice singing a few songs myself. I still remember the glittering smile I put on the first time I sang a song following its lyrics. I am a lover of music, even though at one point it didn't seem so because I had a bad voice for music, but I couldn't help it so I had to keep pressing on until I could sing a little. One of my musical goals this year would be to learn how well to sing with lyrics and without lyrics. I've heard a few favourites music last year, it wouldn't be a bad idea if i decide to work on perfecting them for a song.
Finally, connecting with music and myself. If you want to be relaxed, listen to music, if you want some good lonely time, listen to music, if you want to be inspired, listen to music and if you want all at once, make music your friend. It's a good thing to make music as your friend, but this specifically for people who love to sing and for the few who believe in the power of music. I'll hope to listen to music more this year and probably improve in my singing and confidence.
