Hello there, everyone! Do you have plans already for this upcoming summer? I know you've been working extremely hard to reach your goals. You owe it to yourself to take a break and have some fun outside of town. For this blog, I'm going to show you the MANTAYUPAN FALLS, which is one of Cebu's highest and most beautiful waterfalls. It was my first to visit there, and I fell in love with the natural stadium of trees, vines, and plants of it.
WHERE TO FIND?
Mantayupan Falls is located in Barili, Aloguinsan. Aloguinsan is really an underrated province of cebu where you can find beautiful and natural white sand beaches, rivers, springs and falls. If you read my travel blog in Bojo River before, it is also located in Aloguisan, Cehu. I have also mentioned before and will mention it once again that Aloguisan is our province neighborhood in Pinamungajan, Cebu. That’s why I get the chance to go there easier, but even tourists from far different places really traveled to go to Aloguisan, Cebu.
If you're coming from Cebu City, it'll take you about 2.5 hours to get there. You may also take a public bus. Public Bus for South Cebu is located in N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City, near the Elizabeth Mal. I recommend that you prepare your map before traveling there so that you can be led in your directions. In Google Maps, Mantayupan Falls can be located. Don't worry, your conductor will make sure you get there. Cebu's people are extremely courteous and hospitable to visitors, especially for first-timers.
THE HANGING BRIDGE
You will cross the hanging bridge before getting the chance to see the Falls. Crossing the bridge was thrilling and enjoyable experience, especially when done with friends. It was my first time crossing a suspended bridge, and it was quite nerve-wracking because I could see how high the bridge was. To avoid aggravating my anxieties, I kept reminding myself not to look below. When my friend noticed that I was trembling while crossing the bridge, he teased me.
Also, entrance fee for Mantayupan Falls is 100 pesos (with life jacket)
I could see the falls as soon as I crossed the bridge. The height of the falls astounded me. The setting was just stunning. This demonstrates God's incredible ability to create such a magnificent spot as the Mantayupan Falls. I'm particularly impressed by how the villagers have preserved the falls; they haven't marketed them and have kept everything natural. There are no corkage fees because we brought our own food and drinks. When we arrived at our exact destination, we shot some photos first and then immediately ate our lunch.
THE MANTAYUPAN FALLS
Since it rained yesterday at that time, the water in falls was a bit greenish (as you can see in the picture). But when I dive into it, it is still clean and clear. It is actually normal as per the locals there especially when it is raining. I had a very challenging experience in Mantayupan Falls since the current of the water was very strong. But it is still enjoyable since I was with my friends. Make sure to wear your life jacket; even though you know how to swim, unexpected happenings might occur, and be extra careful. The water is too cold too, better to wear something beneath your life jacket . As someone who was raised by my parents who believed in superstitious beliefs, I suggest behaving and refraining from shouting in respect to the place.
We were so lucky because it didn’t rain that day and we had a very satisfying experience. We immediately went home around 3 pm. I fell in love with the place and the people there. Even though the Mantayupan Falls is very accessible in my hometown but it was my first time getting there. How I wish I was able to go there before and I am looking forward to get back there many times.
That's it for my Mantayupan Falls experience. I hope you guys will go there too. If you have questions or inquiries with regards to my Mantayupan Falls experience, please feel free to leave a comment.
