This is my entry for the #monomad challenge hosted and curated by
This big locust seemed lost that night, and he could not find a place to stay warm and dry since it was raining outside. He chose the worst place to hide during that harsh time because somehow it ended up in the kitchen.
Maybe he misinterpreted the light from the kitchen as the safe place, but unfortunately, he only met me, equipped with my camera, ready to take more photos of him.
He was well camouflaged actually, if only he had found the perfect place to blend his body to its surroundings. Still, that time he was too obvious, since the body pattern and the color combination didn't fit well with his surroundings, and that is when his camouflage failed him, and fell victim to the aim of my camera.
It was resting on a red clay flower vase, so you could imagine the contrast of the locust body, and its surroundings. It was so easy for me to detect him. And during the photography process, he was very calm, and let me get sharp photos several times.
