My buddy Mark and his partner were cultivating a beautiful and flourishing crop of Miracle Alien Cookies, also known as MAC. Due to it's highly sought after bud-structure, girth, favorable appearance, sensual terpene profile, pallet pleasing flavor, strong potency, and high yield - nearly every genetics-folk has tried to breed with it.
The Legend
MAC originates from the breeding of a Starfighter and a Columbian Gold landrace strain. The story detailed below is the stuff of legends, and fittingly so, as MAC has become a world renowned strain that everyone wants and almost no one can get. The following story is quiet inspirational, and sure to touch the hearts of all true cannabis connoisseurs and lovers alike. We are all survivors...
"As the story goes, Capulator tragically left the seeds in the pockets of a pair of pants that found their way into the washing machine. Attempting to revive the soapy seeds they were put into folded paper towels where they all germinated and seemed to be healthy. Unfortunately all but one of the seedlings had died. That sole survivor, the fifteenth to be planted and the only to survive, was thus dubbed “Miracle 15.” Miracle 15 was a male. This male was then bred with Alien Cookies introducing the world to an award winning strain to be known as Miracle Alien Cookies (M.A.C.)" (source).

The photos displayed here (aside from the sourced ones directly above and at the bottom) show Mark's Mac about 1/3 of the way through flower. Due to an excessive heat and bug issues that have since been resolved, the flowers did not turn out as well as most of these strain's sister grows, but still turned out favorable regardless - resilient and resistant genetics - primo.

As mentioned above, most breeders (given the chance) have attempted to cross with MAC. Possibly due to it's soapy conception, MAC is notoriously unstable, and nearly impossible to breed into favorable crosses. As far as I know there are only two that were actually worth populating: Sunset MAC (Sunset Sherbet x MAC) - which in my opinion is only ok compared to MAC itself, and Deep Pockets (Blue Power x MAC) which is brand new genetics that is only just now being made into seed, after a lucky first round of pheno-hunting by my botanist friend.
As also mentioned above, most growers want to grow MAC. If I am not mistaken, the guy who actually manifested this strain actually goes by the name Mack himself (referred to as "Capulator" in the above story). His decision to keep his seed runs and distribution limited as to not "blow-up" and quickly unpopularize the strain (as we have seen with so many others ... Cinex, Ice Cream Cake, etc.), has instead turned this strain into a sort of holy grail of cannabis, creating wrap-around-the-corner lines of growers on the rare days he releases seed to an exclusive list of folks, commanding an over-the-top high price for not only the seed, but also the flower itself. He wants to keep these plants in the Pacific northwest, staying true to representing the heritage, and benefiting the locals.
