Since the .wav master files for my tracks will not be in my hands until Friday, and publishing takes 3-4 days to complete, I picked Tuesday for the official release date, which will be three days after the release party, and four days after I have the final masters in my hands. I did not realize what the actual date was for Tuesday until I went to plug it into my official record publishing documents. The Hex Wrecker will be released on 7-10!
For those of you not in the know about the significance of the number 7-10, flip it upside down and what do you get? 710=OIL, referring to cannabis concentrate, wax, shatter, or dabs, there are many names for it. As a big cannabis enthusiast, I feel awesome about being able to release on this date, the only one better would have been 4-20.
Yesterday was crazy. First I had to go down to garden #1 to clean up all the plants in the third greenhouse and take care of some managerial stuff. After many hours of doing that we drove back up to Portland and went strait to a print shop, No Limits Stickers, to get ELAmental stickers printed of my emcee logo design. I had many problems attempting to purchase them online, and I am super glad I did not, because the guy at this local print shop was more professional, could get my stickers done quicker (in time for the release party), and they ended up being cheaper to produce as well. Three color variants of my stickers should be ready tomorrow, but I have an example of the blue version the print shop gave me, pictured below. Each person who comes to release party will get at least one of these stickers.
I was also able to pick up my ELAmental business cards today. I spent 4-5 hours working on the design for them in Vista Print's online editing program, only to realize at checkout that they could not deliver them in time for the party. At first I thought that I could just take the digital images I created in their editor, and give them to Office Depot to print locally. Vista Print however only provides their customers with lower quality sample images of their designs. I even called Vista Print and asked them if they could send me the correct digital images if I purchased some cards from them to use at a later time, and they still denied me.
I also made a double sided card, with one side giving the website URLs where people can download my album for free on several different platforms, and the other side having a QR code donation theme, with 4 different wallet addresses, in case anyone would like to donate crypto directly to me as an artist. Office Depot unfortunately cannot print double sided business cards in store, and would have taken too long since they sub-contract double sided print jobs to a different company outside of Oregon.
The only option was to create two separate cards, with slightly lower quality images than the Vista Print versions, which I will purchase later. I still think they came out good since they were able to improve the image quality slightly, and will serve their purpose for the release party. I printed 180 of the album download side, and 20 of the donation QR code side (pictured below). I also want to include a #dynamicsteemians & #steemsilvergold logo on the newer ones I make, but I do not have the right style of images for those yet.
And here are the lower quality images I was able to retrieve from Vista Print
Erin Miller and I have also added several performers to the set list including a new DJ and a band! The emcees I have locked in for this event include: (obviously), RxN, Universe, Quincy Davis, Von Gage, Twitch Silverback, & Alton Crey! The band that will be performing is called The Pariahs, Erin's homie David is going to provide sound equipment, and David will run the sound for the evening as well. The main DJ performing after the sets and with the emcees is DJ Merv Swerve, who knows how to cut it up correct.
There will be everything from Hip-Hop heads to hippies, fire spinners, vendors, and a dab & bong bar! If you feel like you would have a good time at this event, you live close to Portland, and you have nothing else going on for July 4th weekend, then you are more than welcome to come out to the party, and we would love to have any chill vibes and people you can bring with you.
If you would like to come out to the event, or just want more info, please visit my Facebook event page by clicking the following link:
This event page is the only place to retrieve the release party address on the day of the event (Saturday July 7th), if you want to attend. Feel free to throw me a friend request on there too with a message saying you are from Steemit, and I will gladly accept. For the record, I do not like using Facebook, but it still has its uses from time to time. Event pages is something that is still unmatched for free event promotion imo.
I also received my updated performing instrumentals, with added sound effects and backup vocals. I spent a good portion of the day practicing my set with those as well, since I was not yet familiar with the updated versions of the beats. In order to do this I had to bring my home theater system to a friends house who is currently in Europe to get some privacy. There is no where else for me to practice currently, but I have faith I will be more than ready to go by the time of the party.
I hope to see at least some local Steemians show up to the party, and will be writing many articles and posting many videos from the event for quite some time after it occurs. Happy "Independence Day", I encourage you to celebrate your own independence! Blessings everyone & stay tuned - into the right frequencies!
