Hey everyone, at the beginning I welcome you all to my new post and hope you have a week so far which has brought many interesting experiences into your life! In this article I would like to share with you again an experience that I have made while traveling and am happy if you can learn new things.
When I was in Chiang Mai I was lucky that a friend gave me a good recommendation and he said I should definitely visit the well-known Flower Festival and already the name reveal that everything here revolves around flowers and also offers other cultural influences. The festival takes place on an annual basis and one of the most important intentions is to present the visitors the diversity of Thai flowers and this in an artistic and culinary way as there are also countless stands of locals who offer traditional food. I was already there a little earlier before the show officially started and this was a perfect idea because I could explore all the stands in peace and here there is pretty much everything about food that the heart calls for and it's also always worth supporting small and local sellers or families who offer their things here. In Chiang Mai it's probably the best known festival that takes place every year at the same time and this exactly when the seasons is changing and this also has an important symbolic meaning.
The main location of the festival is the Suan Buak Haad Park which is located just outside the center but it's no problem to go there and I would recommend using Bolt because I have had the experience that Grab is much more expensive in this area. The biggest highlight of the festival is of course to see all the different types of flowers which is why visitors should definitely be here during daylight already and when it slowly gets dark the area is illuminated and the light effects that can be seen here create a truly unique atmosphere. In addition to the daily program, there is also a large introduction which I have unfortunately not seen in which the beginning of the festival is initiated with a parade and also a flower queen will be crowned every year. Also live music as well as a changing cultural program are part of the festival just like a light or laser show which is performed several times over the evening, but it is not so easy to get a good place here which is not a big problem anyway because most of it can be seen from other places.
The whole scenery creates an artistic flair, which is why it's definitely worth taking the camera with you and what I also liked is that there were more locals as tourists here, which is why this is probably one of the best places to talk to local people. If you really want to see the laser show from the first row, you should definitely be here early, but it must be mentioned that it lasts only about 20 minutes and is celebrated several times over the evening, which means that if someone does not have the best places, they have more options to experience the spectacle. The festival starts at 7:00 p.m., but I would recommend every visitor to be here an hour or two earlier to experience the traditional market and it still runs until the first week of February and everyone who should be in Chiang Mai should not miss to visit this festival and I am sure that others will like it as much as I do!
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post and appreciate my effort! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm.
