While holidaying in Llandudno in Wales, as usual, there were lots of herring gulls about. They are quite noisy birds found near the seaside.
You even get them on your window sill of your hotel room.
Some people don't like them as they are well known for scavaging for food. They tend to dive bomb you to steal your ice cream or whatever food you've got in your hand. I quite like them though.
There was a young herring gull with its parents near the sea front. Young herring gulls are mottled brown in colour. They take about four years to reach maturity and get adult plumage.
