Today I spent time sculpting a grasshopper out of a wooden cutout and I want to show you the process and result of this project.

Hoy dediqué tiempo a esculpir un saltamonte en un recorte de madera y deseo mostrarles el proceso y resultado de éste proyecto.

The materials I used were: Wood trim, cutter, copper wire, sandpaper and paints.
Los materiales utilicé fueron: Recorte de madera , cutter, almbre de cobre, lija y pinturas.
I started by drawing the grasshopper or cricket on the wood
Comencé dibujando el saltamonte o grillo en la madera
The next step is the one that requires a lot of patience because you have to make precise cuts to get the 3D shape of the design or drawing.
El siguiente paso es el que requiere mucha paciencia porque hay que hacer cortes precisos para sacar la forma 3D de diseño o dibujo.
For the legs and antenna I used copper wire and fixed it by inserting it into the wood and with a point of instant glue.
Para las patas y antena utilicé alambre de cobre y lo fijé insertandolo en la madera y con un punto de pegamento instantáneo.
Finally I added green paint which is the most common or characteristic color of these insects.
Finalmente agregué pintura verde que es el color mas común o característico de éstos insectos.
