Is a fixed mindset a bad habit?
I think so, but I can't help doing things the way I want to.
Just like yesterday, I was planning to process some papers. One thing I needed was to request an OR from my review center, I personally messaged them last Thursday, but no one responded, so I decided to send my message again to make sure. Because I have travel plans, I woke up early and prepared, considering the fact that my destination is far from home. Unfortunately, I only received their response after I had already left home. They informed me that they were unavailable until Thursday and would return on Friday. Although I felt disappointed, I chose not to cancel my travel plans. Instead, I took the opportunity to submit my résumé to companies along the way. It had been a long time since I last visited the city. I prayed for guidance so I could remain productive despite the unexpected change in plans. Take the risk or go home? The plans were fixed so no turning back.
Since I left early, I arrived at my destination before 9 am.
I considered going home but realized it would be costly and inconvenient. Instead, I decided to stay at my friend's house until Thursday. I reach out to ask if she was going to the city because I hoped to join them. Fortunately, they were already planning a grocery trip. But I waited long enough and got a bit hungry. I decided to eat breakfast.
Jollibee is always the go-to for budget meals. Good thing I ate breakfast, since I didn't have time and extra budget for lunch.
I was with my friend, and her daughter, Samantha.
It was her ex-husband's birthday, so they bought ingredients to prepare a meal for the home celebration. While my friend was paying at the counter, I noticed my favorite chocolate, M&M's and asked Sam to hold it so I could take a great adorable picture. Lol.
I got super excited while waiting for the result of their preparations. The family was helping each other to finished everything so we could have an early dinner. My friend's the Chef and we were her assistants.
The early dinner? Postponed!😁 Why? Because we couldn't stop talking. We had too much to catch up on- for only God knows how long we'd been apart.
Despite the delay, we enjoyed a hearty meal consisting of spaghetti with so many beef meatballs, tasty mango graham desert and unlimited vegetables soup(sinigang).
After the meal, we washed the dishes and tidied the table. We spent the rest of the evening conversing and laughing in front of the television until we were too tired to stay awake.
I'm always grateful for their warm and welcoming love-they treat me like I'm their own. I lived at their boarding house for almost two years, so being back made me feel like they had truly missed me. They are such a wonderful, kind family.
My planned travel became meaningful, it never goes to waste. Weeww. It's not just about the bonding moments I've been happy for but also conquering my fear of applying for a job.
From fixed mindset - growth mindset, slowly but with success.
