We can't deny the fact that the things happening in our world are frustrating. People are suffering from one problem or the other, issues having the ability to weigh us down are springing up from almost everywhere, from family, jobs, friends, relationships, and so on.
Life challenges have reduced some people to nothing, sometimes they feel like it is done for them, and eventually quit, unfortunately, some don't get so lucky, and they end up depressed which later lures them to commit suicide.
You won't really blame some people for this because some of them actually tried to share their problems with people but what they got in return was either condemnation, mockery or insults. It's so crazy how wherever you are, troubled shoulders to lean upon becomes difficult to find.
I feel so sad for such victims. I was once in that situation. I know how it feels to some extent but I found something that changed the story entirely for me and I just wish many people knew this too and embraced its power.
I shared last week how a friend told me that music was his therapy and I decided to give it a try too.
Well, that is the secret, "music." It was when I found this reality that I believed that many people perished not for anything but for lack of knowledge. This is something that has been with me for long but I didn't know it has the ability to heal me.
Many people are caged today, some even dead because of ignorance. If only they had stumbled on the light somehow, their lives would have been transformed.
Music is such a powerful tool having the power to heal emotional and mental challenges. This is why a lot of people say "music is therapeutic." I have enjoyed that privilege as an individual a lot of times and it was a lifesaver indeed.
There are a lot of ways music can play the role of a therapist in the lives of people, I'll be discussing a few of them below.
Emotional ease: the majority of people often say music is their best friend. It sounds awkward because music is actually not a person but mysteriously, it plays a human role. Come to music with any emotional condition at all, whether boredom, pain, or joy, and it will give you solace.
It tends to understand what we are going through more than anyone else. As one creates time to either sing or listen to the right song addressing his/her specific situation, he/she will discover that feeling has been mitigated.
I think this is why even in the house of mourning, sometimes music is played to help console the bereaved.
This doesn't happen when we are sad alone, even when we are Happy. Music also has a way of helping us express that joy better.
Music as a therapist also has the potency to help us recall certain things that might have escaped our mind over time due to one stress or the other.
Several times, I have experienced forgetting certain memories but once I listen to a particular song, it triggers it back to life.
This method is now used in elementary schools to help children learn. It is mostly on topics like alphabets, numbers, multiplication tables, and so on. Trust me it is very effective, as many children learn faster through it and it's difficult to forget.
There are so many other areas of our lives that music affects as a therapist these are only a few.
Knowing this secret, I wish that everyone would begin to exploit this great advantage embedded in music and stop being too emotional, depressed, and frustrated. We can't escape those things in life but with music, we can somehow reduce their effects on our lives.
