Las humanidades nos brindan las herramientas necesarias para navegar los desafíos éticos, filosóficos, sociales y culturales que enfrentaremos.
Las humanidades nos recuerdan que detrás de cada avance tecnológico hay seres humanos con necesidades, valores y aspiraciones. Nos ayudan indudablemente a mantener la empatía y la compasión en el centro de nuestras decisiones, evitando que la sociedad se vuelva fría y deshumanizada. Al cultivar una comprensión cada vez más profunda sobre lo que compone la condición humana, las humanidades nos permiten diseñar sistemas sostenibles.
El mundo esta cada vez más interconectado, necesitamos ciudadanos con una sólida formación humanística. Estos personas serán capaces de pensar de manera crítica, cuestionar los supuestos y tomar decisiones con mayor información. Las humanidades fomentan el diálogo, la tolerancia y la apreciación de la diversidad, cualidades esenciales para la convivencia pacífica.
Si bien la ciencia y la tecnología son fundamentales para el progreso y el avance, las humanidades nos recuerdan constantemente que el conocimiento no se limita a estos campos únicamente. Diría Kant en su famosa obra La Crítica de la Razón pura, todo el conocimiento humano pasa por medio de los sentidos, pero, no todo el conocimiento depende de los sentidos. Al integrar las humanidades con las ciencias, podemos abordar los desafíos globales de manera holística, aprovechando la riqueza de diferentes perspectivas y enfoques.
INICIATIVA:
Por esta razón hemos decido invitar a todos a reflexionar sobre las humanidades de cara al futuro. Pensar las humanidades es pensarnos a nosotros mismos desde diferentes puntos de vista, a mayor numero de puntos de vista mejor la comprensión de eso que somos y como edificar sistemas más óptimos.
Como es habitual, hemos pensado en una serie de preguntas, que pretenden ser una suerte de disparadores reflexivos. Es decir, si no sabes muy bien de donde partir tu reflexión te pretendemos echar una mano. Ahora bien, recuerda que no es necesario que las respondas. Eres libre de proponer tu disertación como mejor desees, o bien puedes partir desde alguna de nuestras sugerencias:

While science and technology are fundamental to progress and advancement, the humanities constantly remind us that knowledge is not limited to these fields alone.
