There is a market everywhere; we all know that the demands allow all venturer to sell their products and services. That was the thing that happened last November 1 of this year. People here in the Philippines celebrate the day of a deceased family member. Once a year, we give them time to visit and pray for them. But that's not just the visitation and everything. It's also the start of creating a market. Flowers and candle that becomes seasonal. I will give you time to look at the market last November 1, 2022.
As we came and visited, the first thing that showed up was the small businesses all over the place. It became a busy time for people and also for hustlers. Instead of candles and flowers, I spotted different stalls and markets, making me try some.
Lifestyle is still different and complicated in my place, so I understand that some are hustling this season. In contrast, others prefer online as they offer their products and services like flower arrangements and everything. Others had given the point of providing it door-to-door.
I will share the season of the dead with the market only once a year.
Tricycle Cab Service.
It's a local way of transportation, a cab that allows visitors to ride home, which is more convenient to some, especially those far from the cemetery.
They offer a fair depending on your location. They were everywhere, looking and waiting for people instead of walking under the heat of a sunny day. You will see most of them in Asian countries, including the Philippines. Here you will know they could e used as a transport service when they have a giant sticker on the front of the mirror showing their cab register number. They stay foot in the area and place.
At the cemetery entrance, you will find giant umbrellas and street vendors offering food. You can smell the aroma of the frying pan and the oils, street food is everywhere, and some people are fond of eating it, so there is a demand. Still, we were cautious, and we didn't just join the crowd of people. There was a covid virus, and who knows as they are all strangers and not wearing face masks.
It was secured with uniform personnel such as police and some local martial to check if someone brought contraband, a standby patrol of an ambulance for people who might have needed medical assistance, and a firetruck just ever some emergency happened. At the entrance, people also sell candles in all colors, flowers, and more.
As some crowd goes out and comes inside the cemetery. Other faces I am familiar with maybe we met somehow, and some are just strangers. We pay respect to our loved ones, and we are all in the boat, giving our beloved ones the time of the year.
I am interested in the venture which sells this colorful bird. The group of feathered-colored animals was a simple chick. They were rejected in some production because of weight, size, and gender, so they were sprayed with some colorings to attract some children. We also have a kid in the family; she sees the chicks and gives her memories.
But she doesn't want it anymore.
What interested me the most was the blackbird after the chicks. We called that bird 'Martinez' when I was young. I was impressed how the feathered pet of my old neighbor could speak, and they could train this bird to talk and aminate the sound of things in what they heard.
Some were used as a joke, and they trained them with profanity, but careful looking, they were mature anymore. I am interested in keeping a new pet, but I wanted the younger bird over matured one. The reason is that they were not that easy to tame and train, so I passed. Sometimes, some pet shops could satisfy me.
Also, some stalls offer drinks, the classic Milk tea with black pearls. The weather was hot, and best when to stay hydrated. Milktea shops are also popular in the local area, but I am more comfortable in trusted stalls for food safety choices.
Furthermore, they offered some toys for the kid, the color and curiosity of the children as they entered the gate, the lighting, and colorful plastic toys. Most children choose food or toys; indeed, 60% choose toys over food. Such a good business, though.
Young that sitting there as we went home in the afternoon, I could not control myself but to help; seems like all day long he was there, and not everyone, was interested in what he selling, later I found out the reason behind this. It is the fourth time the price was the last time it was 5 pesos, and he sold for 20 pesos. I bought one for my niece. The cost of sugars affects thou, and there were issues in sweetening goods this past few months, so I gave it silently.
As a Business in all seasons, it was an undertaking topic that not just flowers and candles made up the market last November 1 but also some small business owners and starters. Well, the business lasted from October 31 to November 2. Who knows, that made their profits, and that was good, especially for small businesses in today's age.
Occasions affect the market and create a kind of business mindset thou, happy Friday, everyone.
