¡Hola de nuevo amigos de Hive! En este nuevo post quiero mostrarles como va mi huerto, he conseguido nuevas plantas, algunas han crecido y he cambiado algunas cosas. La verdad es que las ultimas semanas he estado mucho mas entusiasmada con la siembra, apenas me levanto hago el desayuno rapidísimo, me tomo mi café y salgo a hacer cualquier cosa que sea necesaria, quitar malezas, abonar, o solo ver lo bellas que están mis plantas y hablarles. Usualmente termino llena de tierra y cansada pero sintiéndome súper feliz. A veces hasta descuido mi trabajo varios días (trabajo en casa) porque me emociono tanto que se me va el día entero, y no me importa, amo hacerlo.
Hello again, friends of Hive! In this new post I want to show you how my garden is doing, I've got new plants, some have grown and I've changed some things. The truth is that the last weeks I've been much more enthusiastic about the planting, as soon as I get up I make the breakfast very fast, I drink my coffee and go out to do anything that is necessary, remove weeds, fertilize, or just see how beautiful my plants are and talk to them. I usually end up full of soil and tired but feeling super happy. Sometimes I even neglect my work for several days (I work at home) because I get so excited that the whole day goes by, and I don't care, I love it.
Bueno, en primer lugar estoy muy feliz porque tenía muchísimo tiempo queriendo una mata de plátano y finalmente me regalaron dos. ¡Con eso ya tendremos bastantes plátanos el año que viene! Lo mejor de todo es que cada planta va dando “hijos” y de una podrían salir hasta 5 hijos o más, claro, no hay tanto espacio para dejar 5 pero si para 2 o quizás 3, eso se traduce en mucho más alimento que obtendremos.
Well, first of all I'm very happy because I had a lot of time wanting a plantain plant and finally I was given two. With that we'll have plenty of plantains next year! The best thing is that each plant produces "pups" and one could produce up to 5 pups or more, of course, there is not so much space to leave 5 but for 2 or maybe 3, that means a lot more food that we will get.

Aquí les muestro las otras variedades de cambur (banana) y plátano que hay en el huerto hasta ahora:

Estas dos plantas son de plátano “topocho” la cual es una variedad más pequeña y con forma más cuadrada que el plátano regular, también su sabor es distinto. Esas dos son hijas de la planta que había sembrado originalmente mi vecino y de la cual ya se recogió un tremendo racimo. Cada planta da un racimo y luego de la cosecha se corta y se van dejando algunos hijos.
These two plants are "topocho" plantains, a smaller and more square shaped variety than the regular plantain, it also tastes different. These two are pups of the plant that my neighbor had originally planted and from which a tremendous bunch was already harvested. Each plant gives a bunch and after the harvest it is cut and some pups are left.

Esta es una de cambur regular, esta creció muy poco y el racimo es pequeño pero esperamos que las nuevas que vengan salgan mejores, ya que la gente en el campo dice así, que los hijos de las plantas originales salen mejores porque nacen y crecen en la misma tierra.
This is a regular banana, this one grew very little and the cluster is small but we hope that the new ones that come will come out better, since people in the countryside say so, that the pups of the original plants come out better because they are born and grow in the same soil.
Luego tenemos estas de cambur "manzano", el cual es un cambur pequeñito como del tamaño de un dedo, estas plantas también son hijas de la se sembró inicialmente.
Then we have these of "apple banana", which is a small banana about the size of a finger, these plants are also daughters of the one initially planted.
La última adquisición es esta matita de cambur también, pero supuestamente ella es pequeñita y el racimo que da es casi de su mismo tamaño, ya quiero ver como es.
The last acquisition is this little banana plant too, but supposedly it is very small and the cluster it gives is almost the same size of the plant, I want to see how it is.
Todas esas que mencioné mas las 5 plantas de yuca que ya teníamos, las consiguió un vecino con el que comparto el huerto, recientemente acordamos compartir las cosechas mitad y mitad y la verdad me va perfecto ya que yo solo traje las de plátano 😁
All those I mentioned plus the 5 cassava plants we already had, were obtained by a neighbor with whom I share the garden, we recently agreed to share the crops half and half and the truth is that it suits me perfectly since I only brought the plantain ones 😁
Bien, ¿recuerdan las batatas que sembré hace unas semanas? Pues así están actualmente:
Well, remember the sweet potatoes I planted a few weeks ago? Well, that's how they are now:
Pueden notar como son diferentes las hojas, las grandes como con forma de corazón son las de la batata blanca/piel roja, y las otras son de la batata anaranjada.
You may notice how the leaves are different, the large heart-shaped leaves are from the white/red skin sweet potato, and the others are from the orange sweet potato.
También sembré en este otro espacio para ver como salen.
I also planted in this other space to see how they come out.
Las tomateras que tenía las removí porque ya tenían tiempo y se pusieron feítas, así que coloqué unas plantitas que me regalaron de ají dulce que aquí le dicen “andino” es chiquitito y amarillo. Realmente quería apartar ese espacio para sembrar calabacín pero aun no tengo semillas y cualquier planta que me regalen es bienvenida así que ahí están.
I removed the tomato plants that I had because they had time and they got ugly, so I put some little plants that I was given as a gift of sweet chili that here they call "Andean" it is small and yellow. I really wanted to set that space aside to plant zucchini but I still don't have any seeds and any plant that I get is welcome so there they are.
La planta de ají que tengo desde antes allí está volviendo a dar frutos. | The sweet chili plant I have there from before is starting to bear fruit again.
De igual forma hay otro espacio en el que sembramos unas hileras de ají dulce y pimentón, allí el pimentón no ha salido todavía y el único que se ve abajo a la derecha me lo regalaron junto con las de ají.
Similarly there is another space where we planted some rows of sweet chili and bell pepper, there the bell pepper has not come out yet and the only one you see below right was given to me along with the chili.
Tenemos esta plantita de orégano

Auyama, la cual espero si dé frutos porque había sembrado antes y solo floreaban.
Auyama (pumpkin), which I hope will bear fruit because I had sown it before and it only flowered.
En este momento paso a mis consentidas, las que más me gustan que he conseguido intercambiando con otros vecinos y conocidos: ¡Suculentas!
At this point I pass on to my beloved ones, the ones I like the most, which I have acquired by exchanging with other neighbours and friends: Succulents!
Bella las once: estas son unas florecitas muy lindas que se abren justo cerca de esa hora (11 a.m.) y ya hacia la tarde se cierran. Conseguí de casi todos los colores que he visto por aquí: fucsia, anaranjada, blanca, y blanca con rosa. Aproveché botellas de refresco para hacer las macetitas que quedaron perfectas en las ventanas.
Moss rose/Sun rose/Eleven o'clock: these are very pretty flowers that open just around that time (11 a.m.) and close in the afternoon. I got almost every color I've seen around here: fuchsia, orange, white, and white with pink. I took advantage of soda bottles to make the pots that were perfect on the windows.
Elephant bush: esta cuando crece es como un mini arbolito estilo bonsái.

Como me regalaron varias ramitas las puse en diferentes sitios esperando que todas crezcan. Por ejemplo aquí está con una sábila (Aloe Vera, que también es una suculenta) y unos brotecitos de albahaca en el porche de mi casa.
Since I was given several sticks, I put them in different places hoping that they would all grow. For example here it is with an aloe vera (also a succulent) and some basil sprouts on the porch of my house.
y finalmente las preferidas entre mis preferidas: otra suculenta (creo que puede ser una Echeveria) y dos mini cactus. En este momento son mis bebés y estoy enamoradísima de ellos.
and finally my favourites among my favourites: another succulent (I think it could be an Echeveria) and two tiny cactus. At this moment they are my babies and I am so in love with them.
