When thinking of ways in housing your poultry birds there are some things that are necessary and which must be put into consideration
- Space: There must be enough space for the birds to stay comfortable and don’t forget the space available determines the number of birds that will stay in the house. When the space available for the birds is small , it will affect the wellness of the birds. It will causes diseases to spread easily among the birds.
- Ventilation: Another aspect to consider in building a poultry house is ventilation. There must be cross ventilation in the poultry house. They need enough air in their house. Heat stress can cause death in birds and also the feed intake will reduced and their water intake will increase just to cool down or lower their temperature. And when they don’t eat , they will have problem with their growth. So ventilation is necessary to birds.
- Light: Light is very essential for the birds. During construction, make sure where you are using there is enough light and not a dark place because if the place is dark the birds will not be able see and they will inactive and when not active they won’t be able to eat which will affect their growth
So the birds need natural light which will not increase the temperature of the poultry house.
