Today, my mentor hosted a house warming party at his new home, and I had the opportunity to practice my photography skills. I usually take casual photos of my daily activities. Today, I set out to photograph the beautiful home. In this piece, I’ll showcase my day’s photos. I believe these on-the-spot photos give a glimpse into my day. Now, let's look at the outside of the building!
Exterior Shots
The exterior of the home had beautiful brick detailing around the large windows and front door. In my photo, you can see the elegant Pier design about the doorway that really makes a statement. The brick is laid in a pattern that adds visual interest from the street. It was clear that care was put into choosing materials that would stand the test of time on the outside of the house.
Living Room
Inside, the living room had a cozy atmosphere thanks to the electric fireplace along one wall. In the photo, the flickering flames fill the space with a warm glow despite the sunny afternoon. Laying on the floor tiles in front of the electric fireplace looks very relaxing. Above the fireplace on the wall, I noticed the space had been prepared for mounting a television. This living room seems like the perfect place for my mentor to unwind after work with some television or reading in front of the electric fireplace's fake flames.
Kitchen
The heart of any home is the kitchen, and this space has everything needed for basic food preparation. My photo captured the beautiful granite countertops, which provided the perfect work surface. The kitchen area sparkled with clean, shiny stainless steel appliances. One of which was a dishwasher. These gave the place a trendy, fresh touch. The compact space seemed larger, thanks to big windows above the sink. They let in daylight to brighten up the area. While small, it seemed well-equipped for one or two people to cook meals. I noticed the dining room attached to the living room would serve better for sharing family meals together in this home.
Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom had cream painted walls and white trim, filling the space with a bright, fresh feel. My photo showed the room had double windows on two sides of the walls, providing lots of natural light. The white floor tiles contributed to the clean, airy atmosphere. At this point, the room appeared empty without any furniture yet. However, with plenty of space and natural light from the multiple windows, I can see this will make a lovely guest room once outfitted. I'm sure my mentor has plans to create a welcoming environment for any visitors.
Bathroom
The bathroom had a clean, bright look thanks to the classic white tiles that covered the walls and floor. My photo showed the pristine white tiles created a bright, open atmosphere. Upon further examination, I could see the shower was installed. It appeared the bathroom was fully completed, with white tiles throughout and a shower ready for use. The light, bright finishes made for an elegant yet relaxing space. I could tell my mentor had put careful thought into selecting materials that would make the bathroom both functional and inviting.
Conclusion
After touring this home through the photos provided, I can see why my mentor chose it. Each room showed thought put into functionality, aesthetics, and comfort. The living room, kitchen, guest bedroom and bathroom all featured light, bright finishes that gave the space an airy, welcoming feel. With additional areas like the floored compound, car park and security apartment, it is clear this is a completed family home. My mentor has clearly demonstrated the ability to select elegant materials and design functional, livable spaces. I feel I can learn much from his guidance in this area. This virtual tour has increased my understanding of how to create maximum light and comfort through simple choices like paint colors, tile types and window placement.
This experience has been an invaluable learning opportunity, and I am grateful for the chance to tour this home through photos.
