Hello friends, how are you, I hope you are very well, I had approximately a month without sharing any craft with the community, so after this time I have brought something new to share. This time it is an action figure of Optimus Prime from the Transformer series, this alien is the leader of the autobots, unlike many other characters Optimus Prime is an advanced life form. I made this piece with soda cans and glue and taking the model of a toy as a reference, I downloaded some templates but they were not complete and I was able to finish the design looking for reference images of this toy, I hope you like it.
Hola amigos como estan, espero que se encuentren muy bien, tenia aproximadamente un mes sin compartir ninguna manualidad con la comunidad, asi que despues de este tiempo he traido algo nuevo para compartir. En esta ocasión se trata de una figura de acción de Optimus Prime de la serie Transformer, este alienígena es el líder de los autobots, a diferencia de muchos otros personajes Optimus Prime es una forma de vida avanzada. Esta pieza la hice con latas de refresco y pegamento y tomando como referencia el modelo de un juguete, bajé unas plantillas pero no estaban completas y pude terminar el diseño buscando imágenes de referencia de este juguete, espero les guste.
PROCESS
The first step is to order the template to carry a sequence, first I started with the chest, which in this case is the cabin of the truck that Optimus Prime transforms into, after this I continued with the legs, arms and finally the head. After ordering the templates, I selected the color of the cans, which in this case are going to be orjo and blue, characteristic colors of the autobot. In the first images you can see how the first piece to cut from the template was the chest, then the glue is placed through the tabs to join the parts and give it shape.
El primer paso es ordenar la plantilla para llevar una secuencia, primero comencé por el pecho, que en este caso es la cabina del camión en que se transforma Optimus Prime, luego de esto seguí con las piernas, brazos y por último la cabeza. Luego de ordenar las plantillas seleccioné el color de las latas que en este caso van a ser orjo y azúl, colores característicos de del autobot. En las primeras imagenes se puede observar como la primera pieza en cortar de la plantilla fue el pecho, luego por las pestañas que tiene se coloca el pegamento para unir las partes y darle forma.
Now I start as I said before, with the cabin of the truck, which in this case is Optimus Prime's chest, after molding and gluing it, I make the part that would be the chest, and I place an aluminum strip on the windshield to give it that shine. , then I make the back part using the template and folding it carefully with tweezers, finally, I put some glue and join both parts, so the first part would be done.
Ahora comienzo como había dicho antes, con la cabina del camión que en este caso es el pecho de Optimus Prime, luego del moldearla y pegarla, hago la parte que sería el pecho, y en el parabrisa coloco una tira de aluminio para darle ese brillo, luego hago la parte de atras usando la plantilla y doblandola cuidadosamente con unas pinzas, por último, pongo algo de pegamento y uno ambas partes, así quedaría la primera parte realizada.
The second part of the first piece would then be the front parts of the truck, like the radiator grill and where the fenders go, we must not forget that Oprimus prime is based on a model truck from the 80's. These designs were a bit simpler than the From now. There would be 5 pieces in total, we must cut it in the corresponding colors, in this case red and silver, which is why we can do it inside the soda can.
La segunda parte de la primera pieza serían entonces las partes frontales del camión, como la parrilla del radiador ydonde van las defensas, no debemos olvidar que Oprimus prime está basado en un camión modelo de los 80. Estos diseños eran un poco más simples que los de ahora. Serían 5 piezas en total, debemos cortarla de los colores que corresponden, en este caso color rojo y color plateado, que para eso podemos hacerlo por el interior de la lata de refresco.
Finally and to finish with this area of the action figure, I end up making the lower legs, here are the fenders and the lighting headlights, it is also where the headlight wheels are located. It consists of 4 pieces in total that covers the 4 sides. I place them and fix them very well with glue. We only lack the arms, legs and head.
Por último y para finalizar con esta area de la figura de acción, termino haciendo las pates inferiores, aquín van las defensas y los faros de iluminación, también es donde se encuentran ubicado las ruedas de lanteras. Consta de 4 piezas entotal que cubre los 4 lados. Las coloco y las fijo muy bien con pegamento. Solo nos falta los brazos, piernas y cabeza.
The next step is to make the legs, from the template I will cut 3 parts, the feet and the two parts where the legs are divided, here I change from red to blue, so I use blue cans for this purpose. I cut them with scissors and then I shape them with tweezers, you can also use a ruler and a pen to make the tabs and fold them better. Finally I put the glue in the place where the connections go and stick them one by one, until I get the shape of the legs.
El siguiente paso es hacer las piernas, de la plantilla recortare 3 partes, los pies y las dos partes donde se divide las piernas, aquí cambio de color rojo a color azul, así que utilizo latas de color azul para este propósito. Las corto con tijeras y luego le voy dando forma con una pinza, también se puede usar una regla y un bolígrafo paa hacer las pestañas y doblar mejor. Por último pongo el pegamento en el lugar donde van las conecciones y las pego una por una, hasta obtener la forma de las piernas.
Now another step to complete the previous one was a part that I really liked and they are the wheels of this transformer, to make them I used 4 plastic caps, from mineral water bottles, I painted them black with spray paint and let them dry. Then I made the fender that goes to one side of the legs and also the tanks that this truck uses, once the wheels were dry I put glue on them and a small axle that goes on the part of the legs, I fixed both parts with glue so that it remains very good.
Ahora otro paso para completar el anterior fue una parte que me gustó mucho y son las ruedas de este transformer, para hacerlas utilicé 4 tapasde plástico, de botellas de agua mineral, las pinté de color negro con pintura en spray y deje secar. Después hice el guardafango que va a un lado de las pierna sy también los tanques que utiliza este camibión, una vez secas las ruedas les puse pegamento y un pequeño eje que va en la parte de las piernas, fijo ambas partes con pegamento para que quede muy bien.
The next step is to make the arms, which, like the legs, have 3 parts, which would be the shoulder, the elbow and the forearm. I cut these 3 parts from the template and I mold them using the method with the pieces and I proceed to stick it with glue and join each part. Then touch the most difficult part that are the hands, because I made each finger, in the incomplete templates that I found this model came with movement, so to make the static hands I had to edit them and remove the parts with movements. After removing each finger, I molded it and joined it one by one in the palms until I made the hands.
El siguiente paso es hacer los brazos, que al igual que las piernas cuenta con 3 partes, que seríua el hombro, el codo y el antebrazo. Corto de la plantilla estas 3 partes y las moldeo usando el método con las pienzas y procedo a pegarlo con pegamento y unir cada parte. Después toca la parte más dificiles que son las manos, porque hice cada dedo, en las plantillas incompletas que encontre este modelo venía con movimiento, así que para hacer las manos estáticas tuve que editarlas y quitar las partes con movimientos. Despúes de sacar cada dedo, lo fui moldeando y uniendo uno por uno en las palmas hasta hacer las manos.
The next step was to make the space to place the hands, so I opened a hole where I introduced each hand and thus give the arms a final shape. The last step was to make the head, which was the easiest piece since there were only a few pieces, however it was very small so I used smaller tweezers to shape them better and not spoil the lines. Once I had it complete I put it together and then I glued it to the full body and thus finished this action figure.
El siguiente paso fue hacer el espacio para colocar las manos, a´si que abrí un hoyo por donde indroduje cada mano y así darle forma final a los brazos. El último paso fue hacer la cabeza que fue la pieza más facil ya que eran pocas pieza,s sin embargo era muy pequeña así que usé pinzas más pequeñas para moldearlas mejor y no estropear las líneas. Una vez que la tuve completa la armé y después la pegué en el cuerpo completo y así finalicé esta figura de acción.
FINAL WORK
This is how this Optimus Prime action figure has been finished, based on the design of the classic beings of the 80s, which is my favorite, the previous versions are more futuristic but they do not attract my attention. I worked for a week to make the entire figure, I would have liked to do it with its moving parts but due to time constraints it was impossible, however I was very satisfied. Así ha quedado finalizado esta figura de acción de Optimus Prime, basado en el diseño de las seres clásicas de los años 80, el cual es mi preferido, las versiones anteriores son más futuristas pero no me llaman la atención. Trabaje a lo largo de una semana para hacer toda la figura entera, me hubiera gustado hacerlo con sus partes movibles pero por cuestiones de tiempo me fue imposible, sin embargo quedé muy satisfecho.
