Hello dear friends, I hope you are all doing well. I'm back here in this wonderful Jewelry community that always opens its virtual doors so we can share our creations. First of all, I want to thank you for the support on my previous entry for the Splinterlands 370 contest, as my entry came in 4th place. This was a great achievement for me, thanks to your support. That's why I'm back to compete again, this time with a handmade keychain made using aluminum from a soda can. I chose the Silvershield Knight character—a knight in medieval armor—and I was particularly drawn to his helmet. Many years ago, I made a life-size one out of cardboard, but this one is to scale. Here I'll briefly explain step by step how I made it. I hope you like it.
Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, estoy de vuelta aquí en esta maravillosa comunidad de Jewelry que siempre abre sus puertas virtuales para poder compartir nuestras creaciones. Antes que todo quiero dar las gracias por el apoyo a mi publicación anterior del concurso 370 de Splinterlands ya que mi publicación quedó en 4to lugar, ha sido un logro para mi gracias a su apoyo. Y es por eso que regreso nuevamente a concursar, esta vez con un llavero hecho a mano donde utilizo como material de trabajo aluminio extraído de una lata de sodas, escogí al personaje Silvershield Knight
un caballero de armadura medieval, donde me llamó la atención su yelmo, hace muchos años hice uno de tamaño real en cartón pero este es a escala. Aquí les comentaré brevemente paso a paso como lo hice, espero que les guste.

Well friends, I'd never made such a small medieval helmet before, so I just looked at the diagrams and piece by piece worked out my own version. First, I made the top part and then drew the back of the helmet. I didn't draw the entire template because my idea was to see how it looked as I went along. When I liked the initial results, I would make the additional parts following the design. As you can see, I only used one can of soda, so it didn't use much material.
Bueno amigos, nunca había hecho un casco medieval tan pequeño, así que solo observe los diagramas de los dibujos y parte por parte fui sacando mi propia versión. En primer lugar hice la parte superior y luego dibuje la parte trasera del casco. No dibujé la plantilla completa porque mi idea era ir viendo como quedaba, al momento de gustarme los primeros resultados lo que hacía era hacer las partes complementarias siguiendo el diseño de la carta. Como pueden ver utilicé solo una lada te soda, así que no se gasta mucho material.

Once I had cut the can to match the templates, I applied glue to the templates and attached them to the side of the can with the advertising. The unpainted side remains to give the character its silver effect. I cut each template one by one, especially the top part, as the cuts are a bit tricky due to the small size of the piece.
Una vez que ya tenía cortada la lata como las plantillas lo que hice fue ponerle pegamento a las plantillas y pegarlas por el lado de la lata donde tiene la publicidad, sí el lado sin pintar queda para darle el efecto plateado que tiene este personaje. Así voy cortando una a una cada plantilla, especialmente la parte superior, ya que tiene cortes un poco complicados por los pequeña que es la pieza.

After cutting out each template, we begin gluing the top part, which is shaped like a flower. Each of its parts will be a petal; we apply glue to the tips and secure it with a clip. Next, we shape the bottom back part into a curve, perhaps using a pen, and then apply glue to the edges, joining them little by little.
Luego de haber cortado cada plantilla, comenzamos a pegar la plantilla de la parte superior que tiene forma de flor, y cada una de sus partes vendría a ser un pétalo, con pegamento vamos colocando en las puntas y sujetamos con una pinza. Seguidamente la parte inferio trasera le damos forma de curva, puede ser con un bolírgafo y entonces ponemos pegamento en los bordes y vamos uniendo poco a poco.

Now I'm starting to make the pieces for the lower front part, which, if you look closely, has a point like a boat. I'm making two templates, trying to keep them the same size as the previous ones so the piece doesn't get distorted and lose its proportions. I'm cutting them out of the can and then putting glue on the ends of each one. Once the glue has dried a little, I'm joining each cut piece, trying to keep it centered.
Ahora comeienzo a hacer las piezas para la parte frontal inferior, la cual si se fijan tiene la punta como un barco, hago dos plantillas, tratando de llevar el mismo tamaño de las anteriores para que no se desfigure la pieza y pierda proporciones. La voy cortando de la lata y luego pongo pegamento en los extremos de cada una, al secar un poco el pegamento voy uniendo cada pieza cortada tratando de que quede bien centrada.

Similarly, I began making the upper front piece, which is somewhat similar to the lower one but with slight design changes. I cut, glued, and joined the pieces together. These helmets had small holes for the knight to breathe through, so I made many holes to emulate this effect. Once each piece was finished, I glued them together at the sides.
De la misma forma comienzo a hacer la pieza delantera superior, la cual es algo parecida a la que va en la parte baja pero que tiene ligeros cambios en su diseño. La voy cortanto, pegando y uniendo entre ellas, algo que tenían estos cascos eran pequeños agujeros por donde respiraba el caballero, así que le hice muchos agujeros para emular este efecto. Una vez que cada pieza estuvo terminada, les puse pegamento los uni entre ellos en las partes laterales.

Now I'm just starting to focus on the small details to make the helmet look more realistic. First, I attach a band that goes around the top, from the forehead to the neck. Then I add two circles on the sides, which will be the mechanism that allows you to lift the front part. Next, at the bottom, I attach the part to protect the neck and the back of the head. Finally, I add a small wire from the inside to the outside, and that's where I'll attach the chain. And that's how it's finished.
Ahora solo comienzo a concentrarme en los pequeños detalles para que el casco tenga una apariencia más realista. En primer lugar colo una cinta que rodea la parte superior desde la frente hasta el cuello. Después agrego dos círculos que van a los lados, que serían elk mecanismo que permite levantar la parte frontal, luego en la parte inferior coloco la parte para proteger el cuello y la nuca y por último lugar le pongo un pequeño alambre desde el interior hacia el exterior y es ahí donde colocaré el la candena, de esta manera quedó finalizado.

Here's the final result. What do you think? The inside of the can is definitely a bonus that I was able to use to great effect. The goal is to create things without losing their essence and to add a personal touch in the process. I wish I had some glossy enamel; I think it would look even better. For now, I'll say goodbye. Así ha quedado el resultado ¿Qué les árece? si duda la parte interior de la lata es un plus que pude aprovechar muy bien para hacer la peiza, el objetivo es hacer las cosas sin que pierdan la esencia y en el proceso agregarle un toque personal. Me gustaria tener esmalte brillante, creo que se vería aún mejor. Por ahora me despido, d enuevo agradezco todo el apoyo recibido y será hasta pronto. Saludos!
