Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes que desde hace un tiempo he el municipio Gómez, aquí en nuestra bella Isla de Margarita, especialmente por el sector de Tacarigua, porque mi hijo asiste al gimnasio como parte de su entrenamiento de atletismo.
Sin darnos cuenta, este pueblito se ha convertido en parte de nuestra rutina semanal, un lugar que vemos con frecuencia y que ya sentimos cercano. Pero hace poco tuvimos una pausa de tres semanas por varias circunstancias y ese pequeño descanso hizo que mi regreso a Tacarigua se sintiera completamente diferente.
La última vez que había pasado por allí, recuerdo que estaban pintando algunas fachadas. Se veía bastante movimiento de brochas y colores nuevos en las paredes y ya desde ese momento el sector empezaba a verse mucho más bonito. Pero esta vez, cuando volví después de esas semanas, la transformación estaba completa. Me impresionó muchísimo ver tantas casitas con colores vivos, agradables, frescos, que llenan el paisaje de alegría. Es increíble cómo un toque de color puede cambiar la energía de un lugar.
Lo que más me encantó es que, a pesar de esta renovación, Tacarigua conserva su esencia. Muchas de las viviendas son construcciones antiguas, de esas que tienen ventanales grandes, puertas de madera altas con mucha historias y detalles que hablan de la tradición margariteña. Me parece que se hizo un trabajo muy bonito al respetar esa arquitectura original, dándole vida sin alterar su identidad. Ese equilibrio entre lo tradicional y lo renovado es lo que hace que el sector se vea tan especial.
Mientras pasaba por sus calles, sentí una mezcla de nostalgia y alegría. Nostalgia porque Tacarigua siempre ha sido un lugar muy bonito y alegría porque ahora luce más bonito que nunca. Es un recordatorio de que nuestra isla está llena de rincones que merecen ser vistos con calma, apreciados y valorados. A veces, en la rutina, dejamos de mirar. Pero cuando algo cambia, cuando un lugar se renueva, nos invita a detenernos y volver a conectar.
Para mí, que paso por allí por la rutina de mi hijo, ha sido un regalo ver cómo este pueblito se ha llenado de color. Y estoy segura de que para quienes viven allí también ha sido motivo de orgullo.

Hello, dearWithout realizing it, this little town has become part of our weekly routine—a place we see often and already feel close to. But recently we took a three-week break due to various circumstances, and that short hiatus made my return to Tacarigua feel completely different.
The last time I passed through there, I remember they were painting some of the facades. You could see a lot of brushstrokes and new colors on the walls, and even then the neighborhood was starting to look much nicer. But this time, when I returned a few weeks later, the transformation was complete. I was really impressed to see so many little houses painted in bright, cheerful, fresh colors that fill the landscape with joy. It’s incredible how a touch of color can change the energy of a place.
What I loved most is that, despite this renovation, Tacarigua retains its essence. Many of the homes are old buildings, the kind with large windows, tall wooden doors full of history, and details that speak to Margariteña tradition. I think they did a beautiful job of respecting that original architecture, breathing new life into it without altering its identity. That balance between the traditional and the renovated is what makes the neighborhood look so special.As I walked through its streets, I felt a mix of nostalgia and joy. Nostalgia because Tacarigua has always been a very beautiful place, and joy because now it looks more beautiful than ever. It’s a reminder that our island is full of spots that deserve to be explored at a leisurely pace, appreciated, and cherished. Sometimes, caught up in our daily routines, we stop looking. But when something changes, when a place is revitalized, it invites us to pause and reconnect.
For me, as I pass through there as part of my son’s routine, it has been a gift to see how this little town has come alive with color. And I’m sure that for those who live there, it has also been a source of pride.
