This walk was different, much different. Not because of the place that we visited but because of the company that we had. In this walk and myself had the immense delight to be accompanied by two more hivers and absolutely amazing human beings.
and
that were having their vacation in Greece, decided to go the extra mile (actually a lot of miles) and drove all the way from north Greece to Nafplio to meet with us. And that's how my very first hive meet-up started and it couldn't have been any better!
And although our small meet-up has nothing to do with a large event like hivefest, there are some similarities that can't be overlooked. First of all it was (almost) the same days and they were both 3-day events! They both happened on beautiful, seaside, touristic towns and they were both memorable (at least I think so), for those that participated :)
We spent three days with coffee and cacao at scenic coffee shops, talking and getting the chance to know each other, we met at the beach for a swim, we grabbed a couple of beers at cozy little bars and in each and every occasion time flew, as it does every time that you are with good friends! It was the first time I was meeting someone from the online world in real life and I have to admit that I was a bit sceptical about how it would go. But it was a blast! Those fellows clicked with us so nice that it was like we were friends for ages!
One afternoon I had the idea to go, all together, for a photo walk and maybe we could all make a post about it, each one from his/her own perspective. Everybody agreed so we grabbed our cameras (or our phone) and started walking at the streets of the old town.
A little while later we were at the small port, to get a view of the town and the castle and hopefully, to catch a sunset. The weather was quite cloudy and my guess was that there would be no sunset colours at all but he hoped for some, anyway!
While we were waiting for the sun to set, we started fooling around taking pictures of one another! That was fun :)

And then the sunset came, not the most impressive one but better from what I was expecting :)
The next view point that we went is called "the five brothers", named after the five old canons that still stand there, overlooking the sea! Useless, concerning the defence of the town but pretty interesting for taking a few pictures :)
And as the dusk was coming, we climbed to the fortress of Akronafplia for the best view of the town! The first picture of the post is actually the last one I took that evening but I liked it too much to leave it for the end :)
We took our way back to the town in the darkness and serenity of the old fortress. It was time for a beer and some more chatting!
Guys, we already miss you :)
This is my contribution to the #wednesdaywalk challenge, a great initiative, hosted by :)
