Last week did show us how brutal and volatile the cryptomarket can be. Giving us hope in the first part of the week and putting us back with our feet on the ground on Sunday morning!
Let's see how much it did take back!
Winners and Losers
Last week my portfolio had 9 crypto's who were in green compared with the price on January the first of this year. And after week 8, one more coin is added to this list. Digibyte had last week still red figures with -6.38% but was capable of turning this around and now has an increase of 4.74%.
If we look at the changes of last week, 9 coins are in the green and 8 are in the red. The biggest increase was for EOS, which is having a great start of the year.
It is obvious that the top coins (BTC, ETH, EOS, NEO, ...) do have a better start than the lesser known cryptos.
The worst coin out of my portfolio is still Scorum coins, which really is strungling. They are really seeing some black snow! It is strange because they have created such a great crypto sports betting exchange but it seems that they are just not capable of promoting it! In stead of focusing on this, they have more or less sold a fiat version of this betting exchange to a whitebook casino site! This shows me that they are struggling to survive!
New additions
With all the knowledge I do have about Scorum Coins, it is time to start swapping these with some more solid crypto project. Last week I did sell 700 SCR for 0.314265 ETH. 500 more are available in the market to be sold. And tomorrow more coins will be offered for sale.
The idea is to use these to strengthen my position in other coins. I am willing to sell more than 15K of these but still do want to keep the other 20K. Imagine that they can pull it off or that the bulls really enter the market. This could of course also rocket the value of SCR, which could become a life changer for me!
Portfolio share
Last week the top 3 was:
- BTC 24.3%
- Steem 23.98%
- NEO 13.28%
This week's top 3:
- BTC 23.79% (- 0.51%)
- Steem 21.36% (- 2.62%)
- NEO 13.81 % (+ 0.53%)
EOS did make a huge jump. It now has a portfolio share of 11.15%, which is an increase of 1.8%. Of course EHT also did climb the ranks. Last week it's share was 2.31% and this has risen to 4.37%.
Overall
Well the overall value of the portfolio dropped a little bit. Most of this drop can be explained to the problems Scorum has!
Still we have to remind ourselves to we do need to keep an eye in the bigger picture! If we do compare the portfolio with the beginning of the year we do see some increase. This without really new investments.
With my idea of selling a big share of SCR, I can buy some more solid coins a little bit cheaper!
Curious what next week has in store for us! Did the major investors took some profit and will they let the market increase again? Or do they what to repeat the trick and let the value drop before jumping in again!
Life is so much easier for a hodler than for a trader :)
Cheers,
Peter
