Hello, everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve shared a Pokémon figurine on my blog. Well, today I’d like to share with you a simple figurine that’s also one of the 150 first-generation Pokémon. I’m talking about the character in the cover photo: Ditto.

Although it’s easy to make, I wanted to create a couple of figures—not just the standard version but also the Shiny version. That’s why I invite you to join me in the creative process of making this figure.

Saludos amigos. Hace un buen tiempo que no comparto en mi blog una figurita de algún Pokémon. Pues bien, hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes una figurita sencilla, pero que también forma parte de los 150 Pokémon de primera generación. Les hablo del personaje que está en la foto de portada, Ditto.

Aunque es fácil de hacer, quise hacer un par de figuritas no solo de la versión normal sino también de la versión Shiny. Por eso los invito a acompañarme en el proceso creativo de esta figurita.

Well, the materials I used for these two little pieces were basically modeling clay and silver paint. I started with the colors shown in the image below: pink for Ditto’s standard color and cyan for a Shiny version.

Pues bien, los materiales que usé para estas dos piecitas básicamente fueron plastilina y pintura plateada. Comencé con los colores que se ven en la imagen de abajo, el rosado para el típico color de Ditto y el Cyan para una versión Shiny.

To start this piece, I simply took some pink modeling clay and shaped it into a bell-like form. Using that shape as a base, I began to mold the lower part of Ditto, giving it that jelly-like appearance with its ripples and rounded contours.

Para comenzar con esta pieza simplemente tomé la plastilina de color rosa e hice una forma parecida a una campana. A partir de esta forma comencé a moldear la parte inferior de Ditto, dándole esa apariencia de gelatina que tiene, con ondulaciones y formas redondeadas.

For the silver color, I used the dry-brushing technique to add a bit of shine to Ditto’s body; although it’s simple, I’m sure not everyone could sculpt it so easily.

Con el color plateado usé la técnica de pintado en seco para darle un poco de brillo al cuerpo de Ditto, que aunque sencillo, estoy seguro que no cualquiera podría moldearlo tan fácilmente.

For the Shiny, it's basically the same, except I used cyan-colored modeling clay. In the images below, you can see how I shaped the figurine.

Para el Shiny es básicamente lo mismo, solo que con la plastilina de color Cyan. En las imágenes de abajo se puede apreciar como fui moldeando la figurita.

However, in both cases, the procedure for the face is the same: a strip of black modeling clay and two small dots of the same color for the mouth and eyes.

Ahora bien, en ambos casos el procedimiento para la cara es el mismo. Una línea de plastilina negra y dos puntitos del mismo color, para la boca y para los ojos.

And just like that, the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of photos of the final result:
