Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. It's a beautiful Friday morning, and I bet we are all happy the weekend is here again.
I made a tasty and healthy drink for my family to enjoy this weekend, and I think it would be awesome to share this recipe so my Hive family can also give this drink a try.
It's the avocado season here in Nigeria and I always eat as much as I can before the season is over. I was barely five when I started eating avocado, and it's one of the beautiful memories I have of my dad because he loves using it as bread spread. I grew up liking the fruit and have different ways of enjoying avocado.
One of my avocado recipes is making a smoothie of it, and it's actually one of the healthiest drinks out there when you keep it natural. There are different ways of preparing this smoothie, but mine is 100% natural which is suitable for anyone, including vegans.
- Let me take you through the process.
Ingredients.
2 pieces of ripe avocado
3 pieces of banana
Procedure.
- I started by washing my fruit, which is very important.
- I cleaned them properly before cutting the avocado in two halves.
- I removed the seed and scooped out the fruit into a clean container. I repeated the process for the second avocado and got a good quantity of what's needed.
- I peeled the back of the banana as well and cut them into smaller bits for easy blending.
- I got my blender, cleaned it, and prepared it for use.
- I turned the fruits into the blender, added enough quantity of water to blend, and covered it.
- I blended the fruit for about three minutes before it became very smooth.
- My avocado smoothie is ready, and this is just how I love it because of the avocado taste that is still present in the smoothie. I have seen people add milk and other stuff to improve the taste, which is great, but for me, once the avocado taste is gone, it's not an avocado smoothie anymore.
I served the drink just for the post sake because I don't have ice cubes at the moment. I prefer it chilled, so I am returning everything to the fridge for some hours.
I hope you love the drink; feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
