Good morning everyone,
This morning I'll be sharing with us how I made a black leather slippers for male. This time around I decided to challenge myself with a little bit more complex style with stitched straps that I made myself. The first thing I did was to make out the sole. While processing a shoe mostly it is advice to construct the sole first except if you're using an already made sole but in this case I was the one to construct the sole of the slippers. After making the sole, I cut out the strap on the leather of choice using a pattern that I've made before.
The shoe was made using my little brothers size, I use their sizes because they are around me so it's accessible for me to use their legs as last. I used two different leather for each pair as I'll be showing us below.
MATERIALS USED
- Leather of choice with respective lining
- Maco
- Nora
- Gum
- Dye and Gum for the finishing touchings
- Cutter
- Scissors
PROCESS
- Like I said earlier the first thing I did was to construct the sole by replicating the size on a Nora and cutting two pair out one for the top sole, the other pair for the down sole. On the top sole I gummed a reduced Maco on it and capped it with a black lining leather.
- After gumming and capping, I trimmed out the leather from the edges with a scissors.
- Once the top sole was set, I proceeded to the straps. I marked out the pattern for that design on the lining then gummed it to their respective leather. After gumming, I cut it out and stitched the sides.
- Next was I construct the down sole. I marked out the size on the Nora, cut it out leaving a little excess and the edges and gummed the heels with it.
- After that I last the straps with the top sole, gummed the straps with the sole and finally gummed the top sole with the down sole.
- Finally, I gummed the top sole with the down sole. Remember the down sole is a it bigger than the top sole so.i trimmed the edges in line with the top sole using a cutter. Once that was done, I filled the edges with a filing machine, dyed and polished the shoes.
